40 Piazzolla Tangos for Piano

I was hoping for a great arrangement of "Adios Nonino" and am very disappointed in this simplistic, watered-down version. I'm regretting my purchase.

The arrangements were interesting though I have liked some others more. The collection in general is very nice and Amazon did a great job with shipping.

Disappointed with this arrangement mainly due to the fact the typical Tango beat is missing! In 4/4 time the third beat in the bass should be as strong as the first, but certainly in the piece I wanted to play (Libertango ), the third beat is actually tied to the last quarter of the second beat, making it even weaker!Not too happy with the harmony, either.

Great value. Book is even more beautiful in real life. Easy for the more accomplished to adapt.

I ordered this last night and it was with me today. Great fun to play!

Most the arrangements are by Hywel Davies, the rest I assume are whatever public domain rubbish they could find. The authors of these arrangements lack the ability to articulate the rhythmic structures Piazzolla uses in his music. They put accents on specific notes and expect the player to rubato the actual written notes to make it sound like Piazzolla.There is an Milonga Del Angel arrangement out there for piano (which isn't in this book) that is night and day above anything in this book.Just Google image search Hywel Davies sheet music and when you see the horror of this notation you'll promptly close this tab and avoid this book like the plague. I'm sad I didn't read the reviews before my purchase.If anyone knows of any well written Piazzolla arrangements that can properly articulate the rhythmic structure please let me know!

Chi, come me, sa suonare solo ciò che legge, difficilmente riesce a trovare spartiti così completi e ben fatti.
