Reliable workhorse with all the needed functions
I got one Cygolite Metro years ago and since then have got more and more for our family—roughly 20 lights on 10 bikes—because it is easier to have all the same mounts, and... they work. After a lot of use I can say I don’t think there’s a better value or more reliable option out there. I like that the beam pattern is wide side-to-side for better “be seen” visibility (drivers pulling out from side streets etc). The mounts are solid on various handlebar sizes. If the side-to-side movement (which allows adjusting where it points on bars with sweep, or if you’re running multiple lights and want them pointed a bit left and right) is too loose a little blue loctite on the threads and a firm tightening holds. I’ve used Metros for commuting in all weather, and putting 2 or 3 on bars (and helmet with a helmet mount sold separately) for MTB trail riding at night. Great workhorse lights for the full range of uses. The high beam is very bright and adequate to see with. The flash setting lasts a long time and is good for “daytime running light” safety use (highly recommended). The lowest setting (activated by pushing and holding the button) also lasts a very long time and is good for multi-use paths at night when you don’t want to be too bright for pedestrians. Or as a flashlight going for a walk. Customer service has been good—the only thing I’ve ever needed was to replace a couple of the small rubber parts for the button or USB cover lost in crashes (and they sent them to me free—super cool). The flutter to let you know battery is running low is helpful and kicks in in plenty of time to charge before the next commute. For a long ride throw a spare in your pocket and swap as needed. Battery seems good quality—haven’t noticed shortening of battery life even on my Metros that are several years old. Not a criticism of this light but the only thing I’d like (in a different type of light) is a usb light with a 3” or 4” diameter lens (more like a motorcycle) because I think drivers would see it better than the smaller 1” lenses typical on these sorts of lights. Nobody seems to make that and it would be clunkier.

SOMEBODY PASS ME A CYGOLITE!
This thing is b'b'b' BRIGHT! Handy. And will light up any direction you point it. I've discovered that the 2nd setting or medium high works best for me since I ride in the city with so much traffic. On coming vehicles block out the 3rd or low setting light at times. But on medium (#2) setting, the light shines right on through so I can see where I'm going with ease. I just got this light and have not run it down to battery used up level yet. But after riding 14.5 miles later, lights still bright! Was a little finagling with the mount over my mountain bike handlebars due to several thickness levels designed in the handlebars. But once I found it's sweet spot, game over. Hold button down and slides forward and off like butter. Why would you leave it on your bike when in 2 10ths of a second (or less than a second) - you could be putting it in your pocket? Installing it back on mount? B4 you put it on your bike, play with it. Push down the back button and slide it off forward and then back on. For real though! After the 3rd time, you'll be a pro at taking it off and sliding it back on. So when its hard to see outside in the pitch of darkness, you won't even have to use your eyes to take it off & put it back on. Just remember to listen for a light click sound letting you know the light has been successfully mounted. Smooth feeling so no fight getting it back on or off. If you do, slide back forward and try again. Really! Its super DUPER easy. Works as a handheld flashlight with ease with great distance shine. Looks like it might be bulky in the pics. But its really small and durable. Turn off? Hold green button down and 2secs later its off. Light comes back on with hold of the button to the last setting it turned off in. Very useful so you don't have to toggle with it each use. Just mount, hold button to turn on light and ride! Easy switch between light modes if you need or like to. Swivels left and right some to - to get just where you want the middle of your light to shine. Highly recommended . Cons? It wasn't free LOL Pro's? Please read again. I'LL HOLLA!!!

Great light.
I bought this based on the Wirecutter review, and I've been very happy with it. I already had their previous recommendation the Light & Motion Urban 500, which is a perfectly good light that worked well for me last year when I occasionally found myself riding after dark. In 2020 though I really bumped up the distances I was riding and as the end of daylight savings time approached, I started to worry about finding myself 10 miles from home in the dark because I forgot to charge my one light. You know what they say 2 is 1 and 1 is none. So I got this as a backup, and it quickly became my primary light. The mount is more secure so once I found a good position that lit up the path in front of me without blinding oncoming joggers it stayed there. The choices in lighting patterns are better, ranging from battery saving flashes to make sure I'm seen in twilight conditions to plenty bright to see by on a trail without any other lights.Be aware that at full power the battery will run down pretty quick. It only takes 1.5 - 2 hours in my experience. The light is helpful enough there to start blinking a low battery warning well before it actually runs out though, and I realized pretty quickly that even in the shortest days of December I really didn't need the brightest setting. On the next level down I can see plenty well and never run it out in a single ride. The only real con I have with the light is that it uses a mini USB plug to charge. USB c obviously would have been best, but even micro USB would have been fine. I've still got plenty of those cords lying around and devices that use them. If I ever loose the charging cable that came with this, I guess it will be sharing a cord with my printer.

Ampliamente recomendada.
