OMG!!!!
Mark! I don't know if I love you or just like you a bit now. This book travels along at the speed of your books. Then, somewhere just after the very middle of the book, this one takes off flying! I couldn't put it down. I fell asleep and had to go back some to make sure I hadn't missed or dreamed some of it. So I am sitting here, it's a rainy autumn day in Vancouver. I'm happily relaxing, cat beside me on the bed. Then...,......................BAMM.............All I can say is thanks for the pretty wall. And for the fact that I am getting book 3 after typing this!Yaaa!

Gets you right at the end
Loved the Red sister series and have been enjoying but struggling through this series a bit. Have found it a bit repetitive at times. Was about to give up and he hooked me in at the end… ready for the next book.

Loved it
Amazing read, if you liked the first you'll live the second book, action every chapter with the correct amount of buildup

His best book yet.
The headline is not exaggerating. Of all his protagonists and other characters, I think this potrayal is the most nuanced and imperfect. As in our past series in this universe our protagonist has powers as a result of their birth but their strength does not come from that, rather it comes from experiencing life outsider the norm, and how that makes them stronger and more curious. I think I enjoyed this book in part because it reminded me of the left hand of darkness by Ursella LeGuin, which is high praise! Read the first book, read this, and wait impatiently for the next book with me.

I enjoyed it. I'm looking forward to more
I'm really coming around to Mark Lawrence, this book is a joy to read, and I feel a little less gory than the book of the ancestor series, albeit they feel like shorter novels. I'm eagerly awaiting the third novel. I'm definitely enjoying the stories in this 'verse
