This is still a real carbon fiber license plate frame. BUT.....the quality has gone down. I had purchased a frame in mid 2015 from these guys and it looked amazing, it had depth and pop to it. I had to order a new one due to being rear ended last week. This new piece looks thin, and it does not have that depth and pop to it like the old one. The carbon fiber weaving is a not as nice anymore also IMO. Almost looks fake in comparison. I called them, they said that they don't make them like before anymore, I'm bummed. The product description picture shown is the old version FYI. For reference here are pictures of the old vs new, decide for yourself. there is some damage to my old one due to being rear ended.

7/31/18 Just spoke with the manufacturer about my front license plate cover breaking in a car wash after it made it though the wash several times just fine before it broke.The bottom 2" of this front carbon fiber (CF) plate cover snapped right off. They advertise that this plate is car wash save. After all it's made of CF. Their interpretation of "car wash safe " on the phone, however, is that it's safe if you "take it to a hand-wash car wash". If you take it to a soft touch car wash or any wash with rollers that touch the car, the license plate cover will likely bend or snap. They advise that you take the license plate and their cover off before going to a brush-wash car wash. No replacement cover was offered to me even though they say 100% customer satisfaction. This CF plate could be made of a less expensive material since you have to remove the plate before a brush/roller wash. Too bad the front plate cover is so sensitive to anything but a "hand-wash car wash" as it's a nice looking CF license plate cover. Too bad they claim it's car wash safe.

These are such a simple way to fix up the tacky look of dealership plate frames. They are sleek, modern, and minimal. I put them on my wife’s black Acura and we both agree they look fantastic.Just keep in mind that these are real carbon fiber with no other material except it’s own plastic supporting behind it, so they have a slightly flexible feel and I would wager to bet that you could crack these.I wish the screw caps also had the carbon fiber finish, like some of the less authentic ones do, but even with the caps we get it certainly has a sleek look.It comes with little adhesive pads to help the license plate (particularly the front plate) not rattle. I suggest you try it without before you attach those. I used a darker art plate with these dark frames, and those little pads are white. Even though they are mostly hidden, I see the white pads when I stand in front of the car and I don’t like them. But hey, it doesn’t rattle, sooooooo...

Just received this in today, it's legit 100% real carbon fiber. It's super light weight, not that it matters, but just something I noticed as soon as i took it out. The backside of the frame is painted black to hide the uncoated, not glossy part of the carbon, and I appreciate the 3M pads they put back there to prevent rattling against the license plate. Very happy with this frame!

They look nice but they are not real carbon fiber. I needed to install them upside-down otherwise they block the tabs on MN plates. I just used 3M tape to secure it to the plate which has seemed to hold up well bc I've had them on for months! They fit okay and have a nice gloss to them. I don't think I would buy them again just because the carbon fiber looks a bit wonky in some areas and it's not "real carbon fiber". Kinda disappointed...

I love the product. I would be lying if I said it sucks. It's real carbon fiber and the text is thick layer of some type of paint.The customer service however was a different story; no explanation for late package only a run-around of sorrys and "ill find out" but no answers only deflections. Customer service needs to improve if they want references or returning customers.

Horrible product . I ordered one of these trying to make sure that this one came close to matching the one I already have on my car. So I put this product in the front my car and it’s flaking off in spots. My other plate that I’ve had and using for years no problems this one horrible. Don’t waste your money on this.

This looks kinda nice, but it’s clearly a cheap plastic knock off. Not real carbon fiber.It’s flimsy at best.

I do not have anything bad to say about it. Looks really nice on my SRT8

It's a nice looking product but, covers the year stickers. It is unusable.
