Excellent, easy to use and tiny scanner.
I bought the ScanSnap iX1300 automatic document scanner to digitise all my doumentation stored over the year. The scanner has a tiny footprint on my desk and it runs flawlessly on an M1 Mac Mini running the Sequoia OS. It was extremely easy to set up and is pretty intuitive to use. It scans over 30 double sided pages per minute and after a bit of experimentation to orient the documents correctly in the document feeder, I have scanned hundred of pages saving a lot of filing space. I think the value for money is good considering how much time it has saved me. Image quality is good enough for document scanning but I have not used it for photos.

Bloody hell it is good!
It's pricey, so I bought it after a lot of research. It's small and portable. It took me around 20 minutes to set it up (you have to download the software to set it up), but once it set up it's connected to my laptop wirelessly, and all you need to do is press the scan button. And behold - holy cow it's fast! And the scans are accurate! Colours are nice! And duplex (automatic). I'm very impressed. This machine is GOOD. The only caveat - if you want to scan to a 'searchable pdf' you will need to upload it to its cloud service.

small, neat and it works
What did I like about it. Well, as a replacement for my previous ScanSnap Fi-5010 eox, it is very good. Extremely compact and it does what I need it to do, which is to scan A4 paper documents and convert the image to searchable text in PDF format. Scanning is very fast, lifting the cover turns the machine on closing the cover turns it off. Most of the complexity is controlled by the software which is actually not in the box. you need to download these packages from the Fujitsu support web page. The results are excellent once you have managed to sort out installation and learnt how to operate the bundled SnapScan packages. I speak from previous experience with the Fi-5010 eox, as I am actually using using the iX1300 scanner with Vuescan Professional software which, in my opinion, is a much simpler and better integrated solution for my needs. You can use WiFi to share access with more than one device but as I opted to connect via the USB lead (in the package), I am not going to comment on the use of WiFi Dislikes, not too much. Manuals are pretty well absent, although there is a single folded 'get you started' sheet. There is one point you should be aware of. The reason I am moving from my original scanner to the iX 1300 is because of the deterioration of the document exit rollers, which turned from solid to a sticky mess. You can replace the 'pick' roller , and that process is described in the 'get you started' sheet, however this process, does not include the exit rollers. This actually limits the lifetime of the scanner and I note that the iX1300 has a similar type of roller. The good news is that you should get about 10 years of use before you face this problem!

Definitely worth it
Instructions aren't immediately clear but once set up configured on the app it worked really well. Fast, good capacity. Good quality colour scanning. Small footprint. Makes paperwork admin that much easier to file, sort and dispose of all that extra paper.

COMPACT, EASY TO SET UP (EVEN FOR AN OLD PERSON) AND SO FAST. GREAT SCANNER
What a great little product. It is so compact and so easy to set up and use. I recommend 100%. It is so fast as well. I love it.

Pretty good
For me the main issue in choosing a scanner was capacity/speed vs size/cost. I opted towards the latter in choosing this scansnap which meant that scanning in all my existing documents took longer than if I had opted for a larger model. However it was still pretty quick (30 pages a minute) and now I've done all the hard yards I only need to occasionally scan a document. A couple of other caveats - the software interface initially was very confusing. I had to ask the helpdesk something but the gentleman was very helpful. The main thing to learn is how to add scans together (a 130 page document will take at least 5 scans) but once you figure this it out it's plain sailing. The only real frustration were the paper jams - I think maybe 1 in 10 scans resulted in a jam - it's easiest to cancel and re-do it. Oddly there seemed little correlation with paper quality. The other fault was occasionally missing the odd page out (I did find myself watching to check this did not happen or at least checking how many pages were sent afterwards to ensure one was not missed out). Overall I would give the product 4.5 stars. The positives outweigh the negatives and if you, like me, only have a modest home office this will be a good option to consider.

Great product
This scanner has revolutionised my admin, scans everything, its paper handling is excellent. It does take a while to learn how to use it and how to back up and restore everything as it keeps all the tags and categories in a separate file.

Totally brilliant once up and running (but painfully poor cloud set up process)
This is my fourth ScanSnap after more than ten years of using one almost daily. I've scanned hundreds of thousands of pages with them and they are fantastic. The iX1300 is fast, efficient and scans to a high quality with immensely useful features like searchable PDFs and scanning directly to cloud storage services (so the scanner doesn't need to be wired to a computer to work, or for a laptop to be switched on). The iX1300 hardware is a joy to use. I would enthusiastically give 5 stars if it weren't for the utterly appalling software, particularly the onboarding process to get up and running. e.g.... the ScanSnap Cloud application in the Mac App Store never finds the iX1300 (it appears outdated, but still published), ScanSnap has "Home" and "Manager" applications and it's totally unclear what the difference is, and they are incompatible. The process of switching from a ScanSnap Cloud to a ScanSnap login (customers don't care...) is cumbersome. The main ScanSnap installer led me to install Manager, which scanned but had no cloud options. I had to then uninstall all that to install Home, to then hunt for the cloud options hidden behind a small icon that looks little like a cloud. There appears to be no desktop Cloud app download online, and the Home app tells me to uninstall the Manager app before cloud can be used. It's abundantly clear that although Fujitsu put great care and work into the design of the hardware, the software is a total afterthought with utterly inadequate investment and zero effort put into usability and customer experience. ScanSnap Home seems to be the right application. Scanning to the cloud (whether to cloud storage, email, mobile app etc) is now the norm and bloated desktop software suites are a miserable 1990s world no-one wants to ever go back to. Please, in future, let people set up ScanSnap cloud scanning from a well-designed mobile app and invest in software and customer usability and experience!

Scanner straordinario — compatto, rapidissimo e assolutamente affidabile
Consigliatissima.

Simple, complet surtout pratique !
