I have had this leash for 4.5 years. Two long walks everyday. Hiking trips and many walks through the park, with a dog that likes to chase squirrels. The lock always worked great, comfortable grip, and always good retraction. Perfect length and very durable. Today it stopped retracting after all this time with no issues. I was glad to see it was still available on Amazon and I purchased another one.

1month in and it seems very good. Using for small and medium dog. I can stop or lock the leash as needed. Retracts well. Well see as time goes by. So far it seems to be a good value.

I've tried three others and I've returned them all -- they just don't compare to the Tugs. The grip is comfortable and ergonomic for my size L female hands. When new, the leash retraction is responsive and snappy, so Doggy doesn't get tangled up in a dangerous mess. The 16 foot is perfect, not so long as to get caught up on trees, not so short as to be useless. The leash width is also perfect and the quality is top-notch -- no fraying or breakage. The handle is slightly on the heavy side but feels sturdy. The reason for the 4 stars is that after about a year, the retraction becomes slow and sloppy, and I have to replace it. For reference, two to four walks a day, one to two miles a day, 51 lb rambunctious dog. I'd love some brighter colors, particularly hunter's orange or neon green.

I love this retractable leash! I could tell the moment I picked it up out of the box that it was a good one. I bought the one for small dogs and I was surprised at the sturdy weight of it. The tape slides smoothly and sometimes so smooth I hardly feel it. It’s very strong and works perfectly for my little half MinPin/Shih Tzu baby. I highly recommend this company.

Durable perfect length great product. Based on the reviews when I first purchased this leash, I was unsure if I was going to love it, but after three years and it’s still working like the day we got it I would certainlybuy this leash again. My dog is a mixed breed and under 40 pounds.
