My First Bob Books - Alphabet Box Set | Phonics, Letter sounds, Ages 3 and up, Pre-K (Reading Readiness) Paperback – July 1, 2008

These came highly recommend to me as we learn letters and sounds and are starting to read. It’s very different from any other books we have. Fun to ready! My 2 year old likes holding the small books and likes putting them in alphabetical order.

We are reading one book every day for a week before more to the next. My daughter (2) loves it & calls them her special ABC books. Every day I intend on reading it just once but she has me re-read it another 2-3 times each day. I'm glad she enjoys it so much and it's helping her learn her letters.

Simple drawing, simple 3-5 word sentences so easy for kids of prek age to follow

I saw the negative reviews, but having had other Bob Books for my first child I didn't care. Yes, the illustrations are a little strange and simple, but it IS for preschoolers and they don't have very high standards on those things. So I like that he enjoys them.

We got these for our 4 year old who has always been interested in her big brother's BOB books. She is starting to learn sight words and is beginning to sound out simple words on her own. I thought these would be simple enough for her to start trying to "read" independently (as simple as the first set of BOB reading books). These are more of a read aloud. They are super-short stories using two of the letters in each book. Maybe once we read them enough she'll have them memorized so she will "read" them.

My son is on the 2nd set of books. My daughter is younger and felt left out and kept asking if she can start reading as well. She was not ready to read, so I purchased the book initially so she wouldn’t feel left out. I ended up loving these books as a way to reinforce the letter sounds, teach her how to recognize the title of a book, and to just feel comfortable with what’s to come in reading.

I’ve used these bob books with two kids already and am collecting more early ones for my little one. Excellent system for exposing books to little ones and beginning reading skills early. Great improvement from the old hooked on phonics system. Simple pictures are helpful but not distracting.

Loved how the books covered the alphabet kept my kids paying attention especially my daughter.
