OTC 5609 Cylinder Leakage Tester Kit , Black

After reading the bad reviews On this leak down set, I was hesitant, but when reading reviews of other sets where most reviews were good, but B still had bad reviews, I decided to Go with OTC. Along with their compression test kit, I trouble shooted a cylinder 2 misfire on a V6. 5 of the 6 cylinders tested good, compression held on the gauges and were consistent and accurate to my air compressor gauges. Helped me diagnosis Bad exhaust valves for my misfire. Overall, very happy with the product quality, accuracy, and price point. I would not hesitate to but this again

Please avoid all the cheap Chinese leak down testers on Amazon. This is a proper leak down tester and diagnostic tool. If use correctly, it will give you accurate readings and help you diagnose blowing head gaskets, cracked blocks, cylinder and valve leakage amongst others. Compared to the cheap sets polluting Amazon, that are all the same by the way, this one uses quality air hose fittings and gauges. It is built very sturdy to withstand life in a shop. Included are m10, M12 and M18 adapters and the hose is hidden within the case. There is operating instructions and a handy chart to read the percentage of leakage on the right hand gauge. If you need to perform a leak down test, you cannot afford to have inaccurate readings. Buy a quality tool that allows you to get the job done right the first time and save yourself a ton of frustration. You're already going to be spending enough replacing the head gasket so don't cheap out on your leak down tester

Very nice set -good auality

This worked great. I first ordered a $35 one that is sold under lots of different names, and it was totally non-functional. This one did exactly what I needed it to do, helping me to diagnose a car. Notice that it does not have the green, yellow, and red zones in the leakdown gauge readings. I prefer it not having that, because every vehicle has different specs about the % of leakdown that is acceptable. You have to do a small bit of math, but you get much more reliable results.

Gauges work and feel like a snap on brand quality. Being picky, the case build quality is the cheapest thing I've seen, and the gauge back plate design is just nonexistent.

Pros-The quality is great. Device works flawlessly. This tool will last you a lifetime. Easy operation for users with easy guide for the novice to assist with determining issues. The gauges are large and easy to read.Comes with a nice storage container to keep it all together.. Cons- The only Con worth mentioning is the length of the hose, although "NOT" a deal breaker it would greatly enhance the product further if OTC supplied a LONGER hose. Extremely satisfied with the purchase and would highly recommend it to anyone looking to purchase a "Reliable and Accurate" tester that will last you for years. Furthermore OTC manufactures for Mac and Snap On tools.

Good product

The 10mm adaptor diameter is a little too big to fit in to the spark plug hole recess. I got it machined off .5mm to 9.5mm instead.
