The best and most essential book! Great recipes for the entire family!
Wow!!! I could not be happier with this “cookbook”. It is so much more than just a book of recipes. It starts with what is essentially a what to eat and why tutorial. Max really simplifies what often feels like such a confusing and overwhelming task… feeding my family nourishing meals. I was looking through the recipes with my 7 year old daughter and she thinks they all look amazing. My kids will definitely love all of these very approachable meals, small bites and desserts. There are a few ingredients that I haven’t historically stocked (but will going forward) such as monk fruit sweetener. But nothing too obscure. Max has literally changed my life and health over the years through his books and sharing of information. Much gratitude.

Cooking: One of the most powerful tools to get healthy
One of my biggest struggles, since I started my “get healthy” journey about 2 years ago has always been nutrition. With Genius Kitchen, Max has done a great job laying out most of the things you need to know to answer the question: What to eat. And if you are thinking it is only about the recipes, you are in for a pleasant surprise beacuse the book is so much more than that and the index gives it all away: From stocking your kitchen, to what food does in your body, to tips on how to take your cooking to the next level.Learning how to cook is the most powerful tool you can use to stop eating junk food because it will get you used to how real food actually taste like, and I promise: Once you start enjoying cooking for you and your family, there is no going back to eating whatever. And the best part of cooking, experimenting with herbs and spices for then tasting how much they can change the food you are eating. One of the quotes I took as my motto and paraphrasing Max is: Not because something is healthy means it has to taste bad or plain. The only thing I was this books had, was a picture of the every recipe alongside it. I’ve prepared 35% of the recipes so far, and I know I have ignore some of the best ones just because I can not see how tasty it is.At the end of the day, this is one a book I will keep in my kitchen: For the delicious recipes and the knowledge it contains.

Max Lugavere delivers again!
Max Lugavere delivers again! He is one of the only voices in the nutrition space that I continue to trust. One of Max’s goals with this new book was to provide readers with healthy and delicious recipes that can be enjoyed in the company of their friends and loved ones; I can honestly say that this has proven to be very true for me as I have brought these recipes to life.Genius Kitchen builds on Max’s previous two books, Genius Foods and The Genius Life, and it is so much for than a just a cookbook. It is organized into two parts:Part 1 - What to stock your kitchen with; How to build healthy eating habits.Part 2 - Over 100 recipes, with beautiful photographs to go along with them. The recipes for a “Genius Life” includes meals to help break your morning fast, small bites, main dishes, sauces, and wraps up with desserts. Some of my favorites include: Spicy Sesame Broccoli Slaw, the Insanely Crispy Gluten-Free Buffalo Chicken Wings, and the Almond Olive Oil Cake. Each recipe includes a brief excerpt of how the dish has impacted Max’s life in some way, shape or form, and step-by-step recipe/directions. They are easy to follow for anyone, regardless of experience in the kitchen. Not only is Max a good writer & extremely knowledgeable when it comes to science-backed food information, he is a great human-being. Genius Kitchen is a resource that I will keep coming back to over and over again. For anyone looking for a new cookbook to add to their collection in 2022, I would strongly encourage you to make it this one!

Max for President
As someone who works full time in the world of health and wellness at major brands like Women's Health and Men's Health in addition to being a fitness instructor on the side, I am constantly inundated with information when it comes to nutrition and lifestyle. I am the designated "health nut" among my peers often known for eating the skin of every piece of fish I eat (I call it nature's botox!), spooning the cooked down collagen from a rotisserie chicken, eating an avocado every damn day and scraping the outside layer full well knowing that the deeper the color the more nutrients, having a post-it on my fridge with the "Hateful 8 oils," drinking my "mock tail" of ACV, magnesium, and freshly ground ginger everyday, using coconut oil as mouth wash vs. antiseptic, etc...net net, this book is a bible and is not only validating but empowering - it truly a back to basics guide for someone who (is on a budget) and wants to take the decision fatigue out of navigating "what is healthy" --it isn't rocket science! For example, I made Max's ribs for the first time in my kitchen using this recipe - they were fall off the bone tender and so satiating - i usually have to dunk my ribs in bbq sauce when I eat them at restaurants.

Ingredients possible to find?
In theory these recipes are very interesting and could work if one could find the exact ingredients. In my area you would never find half these ingredients that go into these recipes.
