Works perfectly as a straight up bulb, if you’re replacing an old blinker bulb, make sure you look at your flasher too. I burned mine out because I didn’t know. Easy fix though! Super bright.

be aware that manufacture is not consistent. some are loose fitting others are extra tight..still others snap into place normally..and thats all from the same batch i ordered!. might need elect tape like i needed to secure some into the socket so they dont come out over time or vibration, etc. now i will see how long they last!! just installed them today dec 31st 2024. i understand some led fail after a short time. they are supposed to last way longer than regular light bulbs; i shall see how it goes and report back if unsatisfactory.

Brake and turn signal light housings are designed to work with an incandescent bulb which are standard lengths. The reflectors inside the OEM housings reflect the light and project it appropriately. These reflectors can't do their jobs properly if the source position and direction of light are altered from that form which the housing was designed.Most aftermarket bulbs are too long and/or do not cast light towards the socket as do incandescent bulbs. I know because I've tried dozens of different aftermarket bulbs.These ibrightstars got everything right. They cast light 260 degrees literally, straight ahead, and most importantly are the same length as a standard 7440 bulb so that the reflectors can do their job as designed. They are also 95% as bright as the brightest ones I've tested. These also click in securely to the 7440 socket which is not always the case with aftermarket LEDs. The only thing that can be improved, which can be said also for all the others I've tested, is that the base is pretty large and this blocks light going rearward towards the socket and cast backwards to the rear of the reflectors. This must be a requirement for heat dissipation and the desired size of the bulb. Another really good bulb, albeit slightly longer than standard, is the diamond shaped ones by Lasfit.

Bought 2 sets of these and a couple other from this same brand for my car and found the fit isn’t perfect. Had to move the wires on the base around to make them actually work. Where they were located from the box they didn’t make contact on the bulb sockets correctly. After I did that, they work just fine but still show a bulb out indicator on the dash. I will be returning them.
