I am so glad that they decided to make an updated 2d version of our beloved Metroid. It is everything that you would expect from Nintendo and so much more. As a retro gamer, I approve this message. 10/10

If you're a big fan of Metroid I tell you you need to get this game it's probably one of the best metro games in a while it feels like a really great updated old school kind of made me feel like I was a kid again playing Metroid on Nintendo it's pretty cool

Favorite Metroid game to date. The controls are tight! Visuals amazing! This is what every 2D game should aspire to be!

You will get lost
The game is a ton of fun. Classic Metroid feel in a modern way. The only issue with the game is you back track a lot. So you unlock new abilities, then have to go back to an area to get further in the game. Bottom line, you will get lost a lot unless you play for long periods of time so everything is fresh in your head. I would say this game is not for kids as getting lost might make them irritable for bedtime.

Husband loved it!
I was going back and forth based on reviews whether this was the right gift for my Metroid loving partner.I finally allowed the reviews that said for the nostalgia factor alive it was worth the purchase. I’m so glad i did.He has enjoyed it immensely and our kids have loved watching him play and shouting when EMMIs are nearby. If you like Metroid, you will love this game.

Great game
This metroid game was amazing. The 2d game play feels just like super metroid but with better functionality and graphics. They did a great job tieing up the original storyline line. Even on easy this game can be hard to navigate but isn't to difficult to get used to.

An Excellent Return to Form
This is the first fully brand new 2D Metroid game in quite a while (not counting the Metroid Samus Returns 3DS remake), and it was everything I could've wanted and more. Perfect precise gameplay, a high level of difficulty but not impossible or unfair, fun upgrades, and a good story. My only complaint with the entire game is that the music isn't as iconic and memorable as previous Metroid games, it is much more subtle and atmospheric similar to the musical style in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Other than that though, excellent.
