So, I'm a bit of an idiot, and I wasn't paying close enough attention to the weight. I apparently bought a couple of these packages a while ago at half the weight. That's what I thought I was buying this time. 5 pounds is a LOT of mealworms. :) Still, the quality and packaging are top notch and my bluebirds ABSOLUTELY LOVE these things. Just know that this package is an awful lot of mealworms. :)

I purchase Yummyworms ( 2 ) 5 lb. bags, every other month for my wild birds (mainly Brown Thrashers, Mocking Birds, Cat Birds, Cardinals & Woodpeckers)....I have the BUSIEST feeders in town! Wild birds absolutely ADORE them (if you’re only using birdseed....TRY supplementing with mealworms—you won’t BELIEVE the increase in “traffic” you will have, and the new birds you will attract)....VERY pleased!

I bought these to supplement protein for my tiny Serama chickens (they max out at 2.5 pounds). I'm not sure I could afford to feed them to my regular sized birds at this price (great price for the market, btw), simply because of volume-- a half cup serving of mealworms provides a nice sized treat to a half dozen 1-2 pound chickens, but obviously wouldn't go far at all with the same number of full size birds.Great taste (apparently-- no, I have not tried them), and a real easy way to help get tiny birds through cold spells or times of extra nutritional needs (sitting eggs).

This is a great product. I used to buy these at the feed store and they are so expensive!! And you can't stop buying them because the chickens LOVE them. So I found them online and the price is soooo much better and the product is much better too. The worms are large and not all broken. My chickens are very happy and so am I!!

Well, just want to say this is a win-win. I bought a 7oz bag of meal worms locally to test the palettes of my feathered friends up here at 10,000 ft elevation. Many birds winter over, and with 400-600" of snow on the ground from November to May, and nothing green growing, food foraging must be a real challenge. While I do keep the feeders stocked, variety is the spice of life. Also, until they compost, seed shells are messy. Anyway, the birds zeroed in on the high protein meal worms within an hour. They love them! Buying in a big bulk bag, cuts the cost by close to 60%. I would highly recommend these, but would recommend the approach of testing out the birds in your particular geographical area first.

I am okay with the quality of the meal worms that are inside the bag. However, I did not appreciate getting a ripped open product. There are handfuls of meal worms spilled all over my entire order. When I first opened my box, everything smelled like roasted meal worms, which is kind of nauseating. I do not plan to buy from them again.

I have 6 VERY Spoiled Hens! They run up to the deck from their coop every time I let them out to receive handfuls of these mealworms! This is my second time ordering the 5lb bag in this brand. Seems to be mainly whole mealworms with minimal pieces which is good, as our ladies like to eat these critters whole. It took me 2 months to go through 1 of the 5lb bags which I think is way too soon but I spoil my hens. Anyway, this is a good brand. So far, so good!

I have a dozen chickens and keeping them happy doesn't only consist of keeping their basic needs. I like to give them treats by feeding them these meal worms they absolutely LOVE! These meal worms are by far the cheapest I've seen sold on amazon and retail pet shops as well. Five pounds last me about a month and you bet your behind I'm going to purchase these again.
