Excellent product to use. Instructions easy to follow. Don’t try and pull the top off by holding the front and back of the meter hold the sides pressing in slightly and the top comes off easily. I say this because I’ve read feedback from other buyers who have said they could not get the top off easily and have had to resort to tools to assist. There are lugs on the plastic top front and back so if you queeze the front and back to try to remove the top you are just pressing the lugs further into place to hold he top.

After having someone check the moisture reading in the attic and saying it shouldn't be above 5% and because it was around the 13%, they said they could come and sort it with some chemical or other, for the tune of 4000 - 7000 pounds. Luckily I wasn't that gullible and also I haven't got that kind of cash. After he had gone I Googled moisture content, It came back as 17% maximum. So went and bought this product and throughout the attic, my moisture reading come back at 12%. Really useful piece of kit.

Does what it says well made only problem the batteries supplied were dead

Gives consistent answers, helpful in assessing presence of mositure in building materials and quality of firewood. I havent tested it against another moisture meter, but: the figures it gave were internally consistent (measure te same spot, get same or similar reading) and differences made sense (damp-ish area gave much higher reading than non-damp area of the same property).

We purchased some wood for our wood burner that was advertised as seasoned. Well sadly this device showed that it wasn’t as sold and has taught us a lesson. We have a load of kiln dried wood as well and this device highlights the difference between ‘dry’ and seasoned wood in the blink of an eye. Very easy to use and will be using it to measure some damp patches discovered in a family home under renovation. I recommend this product - instructions are straight forward and need to be followed to ensure the accuracy of the material being checked.

Bought this to measure damp in a wall used it to compare with other walls for accuracy and it highlighted significant damp in suspected wall so it served its purpose will keep it for my wood burner

I use this so that we know how much moisture is in our cut wood for our wood stove. Works great!
