Let the heat go
The item arrive on time and was in a nice looking box with no damage. The heatsink looked good and worked a treat on my drive that used to get overheated and loose speed copping files over. It was easy to add to my system and should keep the heat level down on my drive.Recommend the seller for supplying a good product.

Sabrent Heatsink - Excellent product
If your a PS5 owner and looking for a heatsink for your new ssd expansion then look no further. This Sabrent heatsink is a great choice! It fits the Playstation 5 expansion slot like a glove. It's super easy to install and comes with clear instructions. Once it's physically installed your good to go, no firmware updates or formatting needed. It works with any brand ssd that you choose to go with, so not just the Sabrent brand. So far the heatsink is doing its job perfectly. Before I got the Sabrent heatsink I was using a much cheaper type and whilst transferring a bunch of games im pretty sure it caused the ssd to overheat, initially it said 40mins left till complete the transfer, I checked back half hour later and it had changed to a crawling 99+ hours. Since getting this new heatsink installed iv tested the ssd with similar circumstances and it handled it all like a boss. Honestly, I was surprised how much of a difference it made. I am 100% recommending this product for anyone with a PS5 and planning a storage upgrade, it's worth the little bit of extra cash to keep your ssd and PS5 running smoothly.

Easy to install heatsink that massively improves PS5 SSD cooling
This heatsink was very easy to install. My Netac SSD came with a heat-spreader which I installed when I put it in the PS5, but it was throttling when doing big transfers, so I thought a heat sink would be useful. I wanted one that would conduct heat out of the bay, as the standard metal cover looks like it would reflect radiant heat from a heatsink back into the bay. This heatsink was reviewed well and great value at the time I ordered. Installation was very straightforward - once the SSD is in place, remove the standard bay cover and put this one in its place, remembering to remove the plastic covering from the thermal pad as you do so. I did a big file transfer (400Gb) immediately after install and it held a higher speed for longer than before. The speed dropped a little then picked back up, which might have been the thermal pad melting to the right shape to conduct heat optimally. PS4 and PS5 games play super smoothly from the SSD and I would recommend this SSD highly as it is great value and improves on the Sony factory cooling design.NB I didn’t use the included screwdriver as it looked very low quality.

Early days. Feels a bit tight fit but ok so far
This arrived well packaged. I got a Samsung 980 Pro to go with it.Took me a while to get the PS5 open as I was very apprehensive, but once you have the knack it is straightforward. The heatsink fits on too very well. But as you push it down it does feel like it is putting more pressure on the SSD than feels “right”. It wasn’t like it felt like it would snap the SSD but it did make me a little nervous and I had my fingers crossed when powering up the PS5. Thankfully it worked and the ssd was ready to use shortly after.I understand that early versions of this came with the thermal layer separate and you had to place this between the ssd and sink yourself. Mine has the thermal later fixed to the sink. But it wasn’t the full length. My 980 Pro is one of the shorter SSDs. I’m not sure if there are any of the longer ones available yet for the PS5 but if you do get one, then be aware that the thermal layer on this sink will not cover the full surface of the SSD.

It does what heatsinks are supposed to do..
Can't say for sure how effective this is at dissipating heat as I've not really done enough testing, but it seems to be decent, it would be more effective if you also use a fan. When I first got my nvme ssd, I ran a benchmark on it and it reached over 80c during the testing, I updated the drivers which dropped this temp to a peak of 68c. So before anything, be sure to check that your ssd's are running the latest firmware & have the latest drivers installed. After insalling this heatsink (should note that this is a system running with no fans):Idle temp with no applications straining the drive: 44cPeak temp during read benchmark: 55c (increase of 8c starting from 47c)Peak temp during write benchmark: 57c (increase of 5c starting from 52c after read test)For comparison, here are stats from my other nvme drive using my mobo's default heatsink (which is just a thick alumium plate, should also note this drive isn't running the OS so it's naturally a bit cooler than the above):Idle temp with no applications: 38cPeak temp during read benchmark: 51c (increase of 13c starting from 38c)Peak temp during write benchmark: 57c (increase of 9c starting from 48c after read test)So I would say this Sabrent heatsink is marginally better than the heatsink provided with my mobo, though I think any heatsink at all would provide somewhat similar results but I decided to buy this one because of the high build quality, they certainly haven't cheaped out on materials. Temps ranging from 50c - 60c are ideal as you don't want the flash chips getting too cold.Installation was very simple, 5 phillips screws are provided - 4 for attaching the heatsink to the tray, and 1 for securing to the mobo. A spare thermal tape is provided for if you have a single-sided drive, be sure to remove the plastic layer from both sides of tape to expose the adhesive. Aligning the drive with the tray is simple as you just need to ensure the notch for the mobo screw is flush with the similar notch on the drive.
