Great sound, not durable enough for DJing.
I've DJed primarily with the 4000s since 2016. It seems like they've been discontinued at this point, so this review may be moot.I really love the sound stage on these, and the comfort is excellent, particularly with the (now also discontinued) thicker memory foam pads. The stock pads were definitely too thin for my liking. I will say, the pads have a knack of coming loose while DJing, and are not so easy to slide back into place.I have no complaints at all with the sound, but the build quality leaves a lot to be desired. My first pair broke within about a year, one of the plastic hinges snapped right off. It took me quite a while to get a response from their customer service, who were eventually able to replace my 4000s at a cost of $60USD. Now, it's been several years since I've had this current pair, which were working great until a few days ago. I was DJing at home, and in between mixes, the right can stopped working. I'm now working with customer service on a repair or replacement, will see how that goes.This review may not help anyone, if the 4000s have indeed been discontinued, but in case someone is considering a pair: they are great sounding headphones, that suffer from a lack of durability, and the fact that Phonon is such a small company that their customer service is not the most responsive- though have helped me eventually, when I heard back.I'd still consider their more studio-focused headphones, since these wouldn't travel as much, or endure sweaty club hardships.

Nice headphone, seems to hit most of the checkpoints dj's need.
Not bad. I've got plenty of headphones to compare against. The Phonon 4000 to me is the opposite of the Sennheiser HD25. Where as the Senn25 can sometimes be sharp and shrilling before full break-in, 300-500 hours...the Phonon is dark and will seem muffled to those used to the Senn25's clarity. Soundstage is bigger on the Phonon. Sub-bass is more and plenty as well. The cord on the Phonon is not my favorite, as it is a bit bulky and tangle friendly. Great headphone for those in need of that extra bass.

Great headphones.
Sound is phenomenal. Note for DJs- they are not especially sound isolating. I’m thinking of using them more for personal enjoyment, but I’ve used them while playing out a few times and they’re fine. Excellent overall sound quality though

バランスの取れた良いポータブルヘッドホン
たまたま視聴したら、気に入って思わず買ってしまいました（笑）特徴としては、ボーカルが近く、音の距離感があり、表現力に富んだヘッドホンです。他のメーカーでは、全体的に良く鳴っているのですが、平面的な鳴り方をしているので、違和感を感じてしまっていました。良く出来たヘッドホンなのですが、唯一装着感だけはあまり良いとはいえません。家での使用だったらSMB-02を買ってたかも。

衝撃の出会い
とある店舗で自分のプレーヤーで色々ヘッドフォンの試し聴きをしていた時たまたま手に取ったのがこれでした。何度も聴いてるお気に入りの曲を流した瞬間に鳥肌が立ちました。改めて他の高級なもの、有名メーカーの物と聴き比べてもこのヘッドフォンのようなゾクッとくる抜けのある低音とクリアな中高音、艶のあるボーカルを感じられなかったので一体何なのか？と気になったのですが、聞いたことのないメーカーなのでその場では買いませんでした。しかし、家に帰っても、どうしてもあの感覚が忘れられず我慢できずにアマゾンでポチってしまいましたw自分にとってここまで欲しいと思ったヘッドフォンはこれが初めてでした。調べると、日本のメーカーで、創り手が意図した音の再現性を重視してチューニングしているという事でその音が自分が聴きたい音とマッチしたのかもしれません。改めて自分が聴いている楽曲の見えてなかった一面をいろいろ知ることが出来て、今とても幸せな気分です。ちと大げさですが、そのくらい気に入りました。気になる方はどこかで試し聴きされてみる事をお勧めします。
