Loftus International Empire Magic Three Shell Game Novelty Item

I own many sets of shells made by other companies, even sets costing three times as much and they do not grip and perform like these. The peas that come with the set are not good. Replace them with high quality peas from a good magic shop and you have a race car. The curvature of the design is perfect for steals and loads and the grip is much better than other brands. I had trouble with other brands slipping out of my fingers. And yes, I have experience have experience handling shells. These shells were tall enough to grip yet smooth enough to release. No wax needed. They are also lightweight so they are silent. No clicking or clacking when stealing and loading on a hard surface. Don't let the price fool you, these are great shells.

I hate writing reviews, but I feel like this one is a public service to fellow magicians/shell game enthusiasts. I have owned a set of shells from loftus for a few years now and have absolutely loved them. In fact, I prefer them to my Vernet set. Seeing these, I wanted a second set for a backup. Unfortunately, the shells I received are no comparison to the set I already had. These shells are smaller, made of cheaper material, and so slick you can't get a grip on them. My previous set was marked with "Loftus" on the inside of each shell while these are simply marked "China" save for one with "Houdini Magic" marked on it's underside. That being said, this could very well be the old bait and switch (fitting for a con game) despite the packaging. Caveat Emptor... Buyer Beware.

This was a hard product to use at first, but there were a lot of good videos on YouTube about this and I quickly learned. After around 10 minutes of practice I had mastered a bit and I astounded my family. This is a cool thing to do, and once you learn how to do it, it will be really fun.

The "peas" are like soft rubber pellets and just pop out when you slide over them with the shells

I just received my three shell game in the mail and I am loving it. It does take practice practice and practice but it is well worth it to add to my magic act.

I thought the shells were going to be larger than what they were, I didn't look at the specs

Great product!! The shells are very sturdy, well built, and are very easy to hold on to!! Just a warning, the peas are squishy, not hard, but it is not a huge problem. 5/5 would recommend!!
