We ordered this to go on vacation so my son could use it on the beach along with his metal detector. It’s the perfect size for kids and adults alike to use and was easy to handle. The kids all had a lot of fun digging in the sand and sifting through the dirt with this. We have used it multiple times now and it’s held up really well through multiple trips.

A sand scoop is a must for beach detecting. Personally I like using a non-metal scoop for obvious reasons. This scoop seems quite solid - it is WAY sturdier than the green plastic scoop I had used previously. I mean there's no comparison. I'm really curious to see how it holds up over time. The handle is reinforced to some extent. The open-ended handle allows me to hook in into a loop on my finds pouch for easy carrying. I think if you use this thoughtfully you'll be very happy.The trowel is perfectly adequate for the soft top sand, and can scoop up the harder shell-packed sand underneath, but it's about equal to the 84 cent version at Wal-Mart as far as I can tell so far. I'd say the scoop itself is worth the price of admissionCombine this scoop with a pinpointer and you'll be in great shape for efficiency

Pros: Very sturdy products for plastic. Light weight and shovel does a great job in sandy beaches and semi compact dirt.Cons: The scoop holes are a little smaller than other scoops i have used in tha past. Takes a little longer to empty when shaking scoop full of dry sand. Wet sand even longer but hey at least you dont lose that treasure you found.

The media could not be loaded. Made finding shells a breeze! So sturdy and used it everyday!
