Easy to install, works well, great customer service
I’ve had these devices for just under a year now. They worked great at first and were so easy to install! No need to change a battery has also been awesome. In testing these they work great and the interconnectivity is spectacular.I had recently had one fail with only being active for under a year. I reached out to the customer support team, shared the details and troubleshooting done and they are sending me a replacement as they determined the results sound like a defective device. They support team was really friendly and it was nice of them to make a replacement so easy. Now for why I changed my rating to a 3 and pending customer support responses possibly lower. In under a year a device went faulty. It started a few days ago and went off for no reason scaring the shit out of me while I was home. Then yesterday I was away and everything worked as normal. Well it went off while I was over an hour away. My neighbor/friend came home to hear it had been going off and got in touch with me. He took down all of them to turn them off and my pets have been terrified ever since. After trying all the troubleshooting steps and various locations, the one device once it connects to the others immediately goes into alarm for no reason. These are cleaned regularly as per the device suggestions and they are placed correctly as per fire marshal specifications and my old set of smoke detectors never had these issues. Now I’m one short and less protected until I get resolution from support.

Economical
Good value and straight forward installation. Instructions were a little difficult but that could have been my retention issues. There seems to be a loss of structure in the translation from the language of origin to English. I can’t speak for the myriad of other translations.

Good with one caveat
These alarms activate by rotating them into the bases. But they can indicate activation before they are 100% rotated into place. They must be TIGHTLY rotated into place or a not-quite-connected reboot can occur. If not tight, any normal vibration in the ceiling can cause the connection to momentarily disconnect and reboot which causes an occasional single beep, (which is enough to freak out our dogs!)Our house was built with AC/battery-backup alarms with standard-size outlet boxes in the ceiling. X-Sense bases are MUCH smaller than other brands and are too small to use the two screws in standard outlet boxes, whereas other brands provide bases that fit this standard hardware. (Screwing into another position would leave unsightly holes or cover plates in ceiling.)One metal screw into the metal outlet box will easily hold the weight of the X-Sense alarm but this also allows the base to rotate slightly when affixing the alarm to the base. This results in the alarm signaling initial activation, but the connection is not tight and is therefore susceptible to normal vibration in the ceiling, causing the connection to disconnect and reboot.I took the bases from my old Kidde and First Alert alarms and screwed the X-Sense bases into those with all three screws. Since the old bases fit the standard outlet boxes, I could then rotate the X-Sense alarms tightly into position and I haven't had a reoccurrence of the rebooting.

Perfect replacement
I have multi smoke alarms in my home and it's very hard to hear if the one in the basement goes off. This set up is great because they are all linked together. If one goes off they all go off. I even have one in the shed incase there is an issue there. The sensor is very sensitive especially for a kitchen. It's little annoying keeps making all the alarms go off. I rather be safe than sorry. I bought two sets. one for each home. Great product and investment. Very easy to set up.

Don’t recommend.
I switched my whole house over to these units 6/22 because they got good reviews, however I have literally replaced over half of them within 1 year as they fail constantly. You can call tech support like I did the first time but the back and forth plus shooting videos for them went on for a few weeks, once they approve replacements that takes a few weeks, so for a month plus you have no unit in place.I just bought 3 more to replace at least that many bad ones! My first order was in 6/22 for 9 units, since then they replaced one and I bought 6 more and still need 3 more when I can swing it.When they work they work great!

Great with a minor caveat
I replaced all of my smoke and CO2 detectors (I had individual detectors in each room) with these units. They paired easily and I have confirmed that, by accident, these do work and especially in the networked way. It's actually kind of neat to have them all go off.My most minor quibble is with the mounting bracket. There's no way to tell which way is the right way up, so you kind of have to mark "this side up" yourself based on how it snaps into the bracket. However, even then it's still wildly hard to get it perfectly level. This mean it is likely your alarm may have its "X-Sense" logo off-kilter which may or may not bug you (it bugs me).Just make it easier to install these right-side up.
