My existing heat tape turned right on and frostex is Raytheon
Works Great Good price and frostex is Raytheon as you see in the pictures as long as you have the braided mesh metal with the flat wire is will work with you heat tape I have the yellow wire &the blue wire and this brand controller works on both.

Has built-in GFI with test and reset buttons
My local plumbing supply used to handle this brand of heat tape controller, but they switched to a cheaper brand that does not have a built-in GFI. Since this controls electricity to a heat tape which is wrapped around a copper water line, a GFI is a must, so rather than buy a separate GFI unit, I bought this controller instead. Very pleased with this unit.

Best heat tape to plug and great quality

Dead. Inoperative.
Bought this last year ( as a back up ) BUT only just now tried to use it . No pilot light , dead. Fails the manual test procedure. To late to get help.

Got here quickly and the directions made it easy to install
Did what I needed it to do for the wire wrap on the mobile home. Got here quickly and the directions made it easy to install.

End cap
From all the videos I have watched I would assumed the end cap would be gel filled.. It was not. With the end cap needing the gel for added protection for the end of the heat tape from water or moisture. If it gets wet it will short out the heat tape and render it useless. I want all the protection I can get because I don't want to have to tear everything apart and redo it plus heat tape is not cheap. Now in order for me to install my frostex heat tape properly I'll need to order a gel filled end cap.
