Get one if you need to lock your helmet
hangs on my mirror while riding (no storage on my bike) and doesn't get in the way. Lock it to my foot brake when parked. Works great. Just don't forget the combo. Mine is 1000 to make it easy to remember. Like anyone is going to sit there and guess at the combo anyway. It's no match for bolt cutters, but who is going to do that? In my application, one cannot even tell that the helmet is locked. If someone tries to grab it off of the brake pedal, they will be surprised when they can't take it with them. Then, they better hope I don't see them. :-)

Great peace of mind.
Great inexpensive lock designed to keep your lid with your bike. I like the ability to set your own combination so you never have to worry about a memory lapse. The dials can be a bit of a pain to rotate but that's not a huge problem. The Helmtlok 4101 feels like a temporary while you are out solution while you are commuting, visiting or shopping. This lock is not a permanent solution for long term storage and shouldn't be viewed as such. I don't believe this lock is intended to be left on the bike with the helmet in situations where there is not normal foot traffic and/or security. The materials feel solid enough to provide convenience and a peace of mind but will not hold up to a well equipped determined thief. Don't leave your bike and helmet in a place where a thief will be shielded from view while tooling your lid off your bike.

Convenient Helmet Lock
This item is quality made and is very convenient to use in securing your helmet to the bike. Add the ("Helmetlok") cable, and you have a great security system fro not just your helmet, but your jacket (running cable through the sleeve) also. And, very easy to store with minimum space. The seller sent this item in minimum time and it was well-wrapped to ensure no damage.

What's wrong with this picture?
That's right! No numbers are visible because after a short time they were all worn off. Cheap crap...keep looking.

Decent lock and decent quality
This helmet lock seems like a well designed piece when I first bought it online. When it arrived and I took it out of the package I was immediately disappointed. The "C" part of the lock is made of lightweight aluminum and covered in a rubber/plastic material so it seems great. The problem is in the actual locking mechanism itself. I was under the impression that the rotating numbers will be made of metal like a Master bike lock I had in the past but this turned out to be plastic and feels cheap when you rotate them. The other big flaw is in the hinge where the lock pivots. It's just riveted on with a very small rivet and there is a lot of "play" in the hinge. I was hoping it would swing back and forth really exact like a carabiner using for climbing but instead it's very wobbly so when you want to close the lock it will either go to the left or right side and not engage into the latch. I think what makes a lock secure is when it is solidly built with no "play" or wobbliness so this lock doesn't meet my standard.

It's perfect! My saddlebags aren't wide enough for a full ...
It's perfect! My saddlebags aren't wide enough for a full face helmet and, unlike my last bike, I no longer have a touring trunk. I was in search for a helmet lock. But I did not like the idea of carrying another key. One of the reasons I spent so much more on a full-dresser motorcycle was that the saddlebags would use the same key as the ignition, instead of using aftermarket hard saddlebags. So this is GREAT!No, it's not extraordinarily robust. A determined thief will access my helmet with relative ease. If a determined thief wants my helmet, I am insured, and I can buy another helmet. What this really does, is stops the opportunist walking through a parking lot seeing something they can easily pluck up off of my seat, and make a few bucks at a pawn shop. I stick my camera and bluetooth headset unit in a saddlebag, and lock with Carabiner onto my rear crash guards, with the optional cable (also available on Amazon) through the chin bar. Being a combination lock, there is no key. Sweet!

Stopped Working
I bought this lock 5 months ago and at first glance it seemed like a reliable lock. I liked that it had a rubber sheath that protected the motorcycle. As was stated in another review, the hinge is a bit flimsy and moves during opening and closing and the combination numbers are a cheap plastic. The reason I have given it one star is that I can't give it zero stars. The locked worked as advertised for 4 months. Now it won't open at all. I know it is the correct combination as it was working. Now the numbers stick and the lock doesn't open. I'll have to cut it off my motorcycle which, because of the flimsy hinge, won't be much of a problem.

Good product, serves it's purpose.
Designed in Australia, made in Taiwan. Light-weight aluminum with a black plastic coating to protect the finish of your bike. Lock is aluminum with plastic number barrels. Held together with a rivet. I was tempted to give this a 3 star rating, but reconsidered because so far it serves the purpose it's advertised as; Helmet lock. I think it is suited for that, though I would never use it to securely lock down something of real value, or attach it to a chain. For $20 something I wasn't expecting much. If it fails, i'll replace it with a cable lock from a hardware store. READ THE INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE YOU TAMPER WITH THE LOCK. If it's your mess up, it's non returnable.
