Adventure Time: The Official Cookbook

My pre-teen son is learning to cook. He really enjoys cooking, and asked for this cookbook for Xmas. I was a bit wary, because we’ve purchased “gimmicky” cookbooks before, and most of the recipes were filled with ingredients that are prohibitively expensive/ hard to find, and techniques that only professionals are familiar with. All to make recipes that the average person... probably wouldn’t want to eat. This book has none of that! The majority of recipes are super accessible and tasty- even for a beginner. In addition, the artwork and commentary are adorable. We love Adventure Time, and this cookbook did not disappoint at all! Buy it, and you’ll have a blast Makin’ Bacon Pancakes (and eating them!). You’ll be surprised how yummy & healthy the Honey Energy Drink is, and you might even find you have the confidence to try your hand at making Pink Fluffy Creampuffs (one of the most advanced recipes in the book). I think this cookbook was really made with young people in mind, and I appreciate that. A cookbook featuring cartoon characters should be accessible to kids who want to be inspired to cook and try new things, and this cookbook finds a great balance between the basic “anybody can do this” recipes, and the slightly more advanced/adventurous recipes that help one to learn and grow.

I genuinely don’t understand what the other reviews are talking about. This is a great well made cool book. I only saw one recipe that was gross and that was literally the point. The pages have little blurbs of the characters talking about the recipe on the page, which is associated with their character. The one gross recipe called yeeargh on toast literally has a blurb from Finn that says “Okay! So I tried making this recipe. Turns out that “yeeargh” is the noise I made upon soiling my taste palace (aka mouth) with this goo! THIS IS NOT FOR EVERY PALATE DUDES.” As for the recipes, there are very few super simple “kid” recipes. And they still look good. If I had to put a number to it, I’d say it’s like MAYBE 80% normal recipes, and 20% simple recipes. People complaining about a tiny portion of this cook book being too simple for adults, are ridiculous. Adventure Time is for children too. Don’t listen to the butthurt adults that clearly barely read the cookbook. TLDR Everything the other reviews are complaining about, is them hilariously throwing a fit and blowing tiny details out of proportion that make up a very small portion of the book, because they clearly skimmed the pages. The complaints make no sense. Ignore them. This is a great cook book and collectors item, with so much personality and commentary from the characters, and great recipes. So worth it.

This cookbook is a must for adventure time lovers and collectors. The recipes are all from show like tree trunks apple pie. So cute and fun. The perfect gift.

My daughter loved this. She has already made Finncakes.

The recipes are fun and from the show which he watches. We have made two of the drinks so far and hot coco yeas delicious, the honey energy drink was also surprisingly very yummy! It’s something fun we can do together and he is reading and learning how to cook, which is always a bonus!

This cook book had my jaw on the floor is was full of adorable adventure time references and recipes. I love this cook book and if you like the show I highly recommend it
