Works well, and well made. Light yet durable

Good for a small setup. If you want to use it with a mirrorless camera or a pocket cinema camera, these rods are great. They are lightweight, but sturdy and don’t feel cheap. If you have a larger body or long cinema lenses, or a rod mounting matte box, then maybe go for longer rods. I’m able to mount my mirrorless camera body with an average size lens, as well as a V mount battery on these 8” rods comfortably.

What’s to say? They’re blackened aluminum rods. I have lots of SmallRig gear. All high quality and priced reasonably. I’ve ordered more of these rods in differing lengths for use on cinema cameras to hold attachments such as follow focus and matte boxes.

Bien construidos.

The rods are fine - there's not much to screw up in this product. However, the utility of the screw-down rod caps is questionable. Since their diameter is greater than the rods, you'd have to remove them when building/breaking down a rig. Moreover, the rubber o-rings that come with them are comically useless because they are far too large and bulge out when you screw down the caps. I simply won't use the end caps and you probably won't either.

One might think a 15mm rod is the same as any there 15mm rod, but that just isn't true. While the outside diameter may be the same, the inside threads may be different making them incompatible to connect to other rods for other purposes. I have had great experiences with other Smallrig products, and from those experiences, I chose to stay with the brand when I purchased these rods. In my humble opinion, Smallrig is great balance of durability, aesthetics, and affordability. This was a two-pack, and each rod had a screw in plastic cap for either end making them look spectacular when assembled with all the mounted accessories. The powder coating seems to hold up very well to numerous moving/removing of the metal to metal contacts. This is the third time purchasing 15mm rods from Smallrig, and I have yet to be dissatisfied. In the film industry first impressions are important, using scratched up rods without caps looks unprofessional, as if the operator cannot care for the equipment properly. Spend a few dollars more; buy rods that will hold up to countless assemblies, while continuing to look new.

Uso questi rod SmallRig da anni su vari rig video e sono davvero tra i migliori in assoluto. Il metallo è perfettamente lavorato, leggero ma solidissimo, e la filettatura alle estremità è precisa al millimetro. Li ho avvitati e svitati decine di volte, e non hanno mai mostrato giochi o segni di usura. Perfetti per montare follow focus, matte box o maniglie aggiuntive senza preoccuparsi che si muovano. La lunghezza da 20 cm è ideale per setup compatti — abbastanza lunga per lavorare comodi, ma non tanto da intralciare. Inoltre, l’anodizzazione nera li rende belli da vedere e resistenti a graffi e ruggine. Pro: costruzione impeccabile, super resistenti, leggeri, compatibili con tutto. Contro: nessuno vero, forse solo un po’ costosi se ti servono tanti pezzi. Li compri una volta e ti durano praticamente per sempre: classico prodotto SmallRig che non delude.
