I waited for this?
Not only was this sent very slowly in a personal envelope, but it doesn't hold. It's sticky yes, it's double sided yes, it fit perfectly yes, it holds... no. Sticky dots from Office Depot hold better than this. This is not the standard 2MM tape apparently. I was thoroughly put off by waiting so long to receive something that came in a hand written personal envelope. That's fine if that's how you want to send things but perhaps they should be shipped when they are bought. Waited more than a full business week to receive, and then like I said before it doesn't hold the screen down, I can literally stick a fingernail in the edge and pop the screen back up and off with no heating and no effort. The non-sticking is NOT the sellers fault, this is a 3M product, but if I had to go out on a limb, I would say these are NOT the normally used repair tape it is MUCH thinner. One word of advice to the seller, please mirror the image you are cutting in the tape so we can peel the face off of just the rim and stick it and then pull the backer off. The way it is designed you have to either stick it to the face or have one giant sticky rectangle and try to only attach the edge to the chasis, which can be done, but it would be much easier if it was reversed. Although, it doesn't really matter cause it doesn't have enough holding strength.

Life Saver for Apple Device Repairs
This adhesive is seriously a life saver if you do any kind of repairs on the iPod touch or iPhone. I've personally done about 30 repairs on all the iPod touch models and every iPhone from the first to the 4S. Almost every time you have to open up an iOS device (and in most repairs you do end up having to open it) you have to replace the adhesive. I've tried to get the seal right using different glues, other adhesives and even hand cut double sided tape. Of everything I've tried this is definitely the best way to go. That being said, it is still a little tricky to use. The thin adhesive strips can be easily torn or twisted which generally makes that piece unusable. But if you take your time, and are careful, this can get you just about as close to the factory seal as it gets.

PERFECT for fixing your ipod
I recommend getting the 3M adhesive it worked great for me and I didn't have to deal with liquid mess. Just make sure you apply it right after you remove all the old gunk or you will be stuck right at the end fiddling around parts you already attached like I did. Also, the plastic tool set worked perfectly so I don't know why some tutorials say they don't. Get the screen with LCD attached there is one for under $20 and it would have been a real pain to get the LCD off and re-use it. Also make sure you choose the products that ship in the US or you will be waiting a while for your parts. Happy DIYing!

Works well, but...
I purchased a couple extra of these for iPods. The adhesive holds well and I like the extra adhesive in the middle which you can use to make custom-sized pieces. Although the pattern is cut out fully on the brown backing side, it is not on the white backing side, which made it hard for me to take it off to apply on the iPod.

Stickers
I wound up returning this item since I had to send my ipod to get repaird by a pro. It was not my screen that failed but the backlight chip. I don't have the recources for chip replacement so it had to go to a pro.Had I used this item I'm sure it would have worked fine.

It's adhesive, do what you will with it
As the subject says, it's adhesive. You have to figure out how to use it. Instructions would be nice. There are precut lines in the adhesive but it's not clear how to apply or which parts to apply and which to throw away. From what I can tell, you only use the outermost strip but applying it without goobering/twisting it all up is a mystery. I have not successfully used this product yet. (I am an Electronics Engineer with more mechanical aptitude than most of my peers but this one eludes me.)

Great fit but not for the fat fingered
This is an absolutely perfect fit for the Ipod touch 4G. But the perfect fit means that the VERY thin, very sticky strips on the long sides will be a challenge to keep straight and unstuck to each other and unbroken. Take your time and think ahead, and you'll be fine. Buy two (they're cheap) if you're a perfectionist and worried about your skill in doing this the first time. But this is a great product and highly recommended.

These are perfect
These adhesives are the best. They are cut out for the ipod touch. When you're replacing the screen, a little narrow strip of adhesive has to go around the whole outside edge. It would be a pain having to cut that, but these have it already perforated around the outside edge. All you have to do is peel it and put it on. (And I would know... I had to do it three times!)
