Wide angle light beam as described, would like slightly stronger red filtering
Fitted this filter (with the original front glass) to bike headlight for use as a tailight. The wide angle beam spread is excellent and avoids glare to vehicles behind, but the red filtering could have been stronger (similar to density of car red tailight) for the white LED in the bike headlight. However, it is satisfactory and well made and I will be using it. Recommended.

A simple but useful lens!
This works great! I got a "Minoura CS-500 Headset Spacer Mount Accessory Holder" along with a "CREE XML XM-L T6 LED Bike Bicycle Light HeadLight HeadLamp 1200LM Red" and mounted the "Minoura" to my seat post, (I have a '97 Cannondale T-900) then replaced the lens that came with the Bicycle light with this red lens, and I now have myself a 1200 lumen taillight! Let me tell you, if you want drivers to stay off your behind while you're commuting in darkness, or just want them to know you're there, this lens added to a light like the one I added it to, will do a great job! One main thing is, make sure to aim it slightly away from the driver's line of sight, (so you don't blind them, because whether it's got this lens or not, it's still pretty bright, all this lens does is turn the light red and diffuse it a bit) I would also suggest putting the light on its lowest setting (but not strobe) As I said before, it does a nice job of keeping drivers off your behind while commuting at night! Give that set-up I mentioned earlier a try, you'll be seen from MUCH further away!

Awesome for making an insanely bright and insanely cheap taillight!
The media could not be loaded. In the video there is a Radbot 1000 vs. cree headlight with red lens vs. PB SuperFlash Turbo. (Listed from left to right.)I was looking for a taillight that would be noticed during the day. I wanted something like a Dinotte or a DesignShine 400R but not spend $200. With a single LED Cree headlight (Refun Brand). The red lens is perfect. The combination of the cree headlight on flash makes for a super bright taillight that lasts for hours of riding. It could be difficult to mount to a seat post. I have it mounted to the handlebar of a Thule trailer. The light makes the trailer a lot more noticeable and is only about $25 to pull off.Let me know if you have any questions!

Not red enough for me
Since the lights that this filter is made for is extremely bright, the light emitted looks more of an orange to me. The filter needs stronger red filtering to be practical for a rear tail light in my application.

Effective, easy to install.
Mandatory if you plan on using the lights for which it is intended as tail lights. Creates a very broad light pattern which I am confident improves my visibility during my winter bicycle commutes.Simple item but does what it is intended to do. Very easy to replace the white lens with this, just unscrew the front of the light housing and swap them out, ensuring the black gasket remains in place on top of the new lens.Highly recommended for anyone wanting to stay alive during bicycle commutes.

Put this on my Bright Eyes Rechargeable Powerful 1200 Lumens Bike Headlight so I could use it for a flashing taillight. I set the light to SOS mode. Cars can see me far - far -far away in bright sunlight. Pick up their light -one for the front & one for the rear with this red lens attached inside & you'll ride safely in the daylight hrs. - as well as at night. Safety is my concern as a rider - with this set-up you will be seen.

Simple plastic device. It is what it is. Very expensive for that though. There's no reason why it couldn't be a dollar.

its ok
it good enough but it seems that it blocks too much of the light.
