28 SAT Math Lessons to Improve Your Score in One Month - Intermediate Course: For Students Currently Scoring Between 500 and 600 in SAT Math

I am a test prep tutor of over 20 years. I purchased all three of these books and much of the material in each book is duplicated. In addition, these books are very expensive at $30 each. Some of the tips are useful but many of them seem to be pulled from tutoring for the old SAT and adapted to the new where the strategies are far less helpful. None of the intuition for the new SAT is taught. In fact, some of the alternative strategies seem to me to be not that much more helpful than just doing straight forward algebra and math. That said it does have some useful suggestions about working out problems in long form and trying different strategies to solve problems. I find the language to be t a bit formal and for this kind of book would recommend the ivy Global series which has all of the sections for the price of one book. My preferred book is still the underground Guide to the SAT which is one-third the cost and is more approachable. That combined with the official ets sat book with sample test and Khan Academy are what I use with my students. I would love to see a series of books that actually has different problems for each level of improvement desired. Full disclosure. We purchased this book several months ago and decided to give it to our daughter to read and work through the problems over the summer (2014).Towards the end of the book she ran into a problem and I couldn't explain it, so I decided to email the author. To our pleasant surprise he responded within an hour with a detailed explanation which helped her understand and solve the problem. This was on a late Sunday afternoon.Wow!! How's that for having a real concern for the success of kids who purchase his materials. Unbelievable in today's age! I only studied this book for a month, along with Khan Academy, my March sat score was slightly above average (1090) with a 560 in EBRW and 530 in Math (the benchmark score). Eventually, with this book I brought my score up to a 1270 for the May sat, this time with a 600 (with Erica Meltzers Critical reading book) in EBRW and a 670 in math. My math score jumped 140 points in only one month and 180 points overall, which is a HUGE improvement for only the two month gap between the SAT dates. This book helped me so much, although my huge improvement in only a month could just be because I am a good studier, it is guaranteed to help you improve, even if it is just by a little bit. Now all I have to do is bring my score up 30 points to reach my goal. I highly recommend this book.

This Book is written in a very easy manner and is elaborated with solved examples at the end of each section. Furthermore; it collects the basic Theorems and Principles of Elementary and Intermediate Levels. It could be used as a quick recap for anyone dealing with Maths, Algebra, Functions and Statistics, even if they have no idea about them. I found the problems very well explained and in ascending order of Difficulty. The ideas of problem solving are also very well explained in a step by step manner. I am looking forward to getting the next Level of Advanced Maths for the same Author. The Book could be used for intermediate SAT preparation and will act as a sound introduction to any other personnel dealing with Elementary and Basic Mathematical Rules.

My daughter had taken the SAT twice and scored 540 and 550 on the math. Six weeks before her third try, I got this book for her. She read it and also did 7 practice tests. Her score increased by 100 points to 650.

I bought this book when I found out from my top college that in order to be accepted, I needed a higher math score on my SATs. The book was fantastic, very clear, and organized. The strategies inside are really really helpful and can be used differently according to your score. At the time, my highest score (of four tests) was 550, and I needed a 600 or something close to it. I used this book every day, and anytime I had a question, I knew I could post it on the author's facebook page and he'd respond promptly and clearly. Although my top score was 550 and it seemed nearly impossible for me to break that number, when I took my SATs again, I got a 580, and was accepted to my top college. I am certain that I wouldn't have been able to achieve this number if it weren't for this book.

Great study books, easy to read! Excellent author! Fast shipping!

Very useful for improving Math score....but have to wait till the actual SAT scores come in to see the proof of the pudding.
