Sauder 5 Shelf Split Bookcase, Jamocha Wood finish

Perfect colour for my needs and easy for one person to assemble

At the time of writing this review, I had bought these YEARS ago, but I distinctly remember them arriving and having to drag them up 3 floors of an apartment building all by myself and thinking I would never have to do any weight lifting after that. They are SUPER sturdy and can hold most books 2 books deep. The shelves are movable (except for the second from the bottom) to accommodate for taller books, but even sitting at equal heights, there is plenty of space. Ultimately, these are beautiful shelves and were exactly what I was looking for at the time, but they were (and still are) much too expensive for what they are. Especially since you can buy almost exactly the same thing for a fraction of the price (and the materials will be almost exactly the same). Fortunately, they have held up over the years and even survived a move to a new province unscathed, and will continue to hold my ever growing book collection for years to come.

Received with interior impact damage to 2 side pieces when unpacked. Contacted manufacturer and 'chatted' through their website. Immediate satisfaction for replacement parts; shipped promptly and discounted through Amazon for my inconvenience. Final finished product worth the short delays. Appreciate the discount!

Poor quality

Very hard and unpleasant to assemble, very cheap materials, chips at the slightest touch. In the end it's just ok to look at, too expensive for what it is. Do not recommend
