Excel VBA Programming For Dummies (For Dummies (Computer/Tech)) 6th Edition

Well organized. Seems to have both simplicity and complexity for various levels of applications. Examples of VBA code supported the topics.

I have been programming computers for nearly 40 years (with nearly 30 years in Excel VBA). I was looking for a good book to use in a class I’m teaching on this subject, and decided to give this book a try. It is wonderful! I’m not normally a fan of the “for Dummies” series, but this one is extremely well written with just the right amount of humor. It covers all the basics, without going to deeply into more obscure topics (though it does direct interested readers to other resources). I bought a dozen copies for my class, and will be ordering more in the future. Highly recommended!

I like the book and am learning a lot, but the downloaded excel files are useless, but when the book tells you to download the file, the don't tell you which one. There are over 45 files.

Examples are very helpful, book is an easy read.

Well organized lots of useful information

One caveat is it doesn't really give comprehensive, real world examples. But you can learn the basics from the book and supplement it with the many sites that share real world code.

The book is well written, easy to understand.

I usually don’t like the For Dummies kind of books. I just want the facts not the snide comments. But this one is factual and has simple examples. I am older to I learned BASIC in like 1976. FORTRAN 77. I read about PASCAL. So I’m no programmer. But I plan on doing more with MS Excel. This is a good start.
