This foam boomerang is perfect for kids ages 3-12 and can be used indoors or outside. The air dancer is great for use in schools as it is one of the safest boomerangs to throw with it's foam , almost nerf like construction. Throw it in a gymnasium 3 at a time. Great for presentations or a way to help a kid stay active safely. Great for birthday party favors (gifts For boys or girls).

Hard to throw
I have a lot of experience throwing boomerangs. I just started throwing them again now that my grandson is old enough to throw with me. I have a bunch of wood boomerangs. They are all fun to throw. But they are dangerous. They also are a little bit too heavy for my grandson.I thought the foam boomerang would be perfect, but was disappointed. In order to make these boomerangs right handed or left handed, the airfoil on the blades is symmetric. You get handedness by twisting the blades. However the material is soft foam, so the twist changes over time. Therefore every time you throw it, it's different. We both found that frustrating. I would have preferred having different airfoils cast into the boomerang for different handedness. The only redeeming feature of this boomerang is its soft and light. If it hits some one, no damage is done. Problem is no one wants to throw it.

Kiddo loves it
Super fun to play with. Takes some practice to make it come back, but we got it after a while

Wish I could figure it out...
I figure this is just user error, but I cant figure out how to get this thing to come back to me. On the plus side, it's the closest from the other boomerangs we bought to almost returning to us. Can't blame the product for my lack of boomeranging skills though! And hey, I get lots of exercise retrieving it!

A Great Kids Boomerang!
Years ago at university I had a cheap wooden boomerang and enjoyed the fun of throwing something that was pretty unusual that would circle around and come back where it started. It was a traffic stopper and attracted dozens wanting to try it. Too soon it broke and life went on. Recently, when I saw kids throwing one on TV, I immediately fired up the laptop, found this one and ordered it for my 5 year old grandson. Tuned per the photo instructions, it works great, returning to your original standing position to catch! The foam construction makes it practically harmless. My front yard is about 25 feet from the street and it can be thrown and stay in the yard just fine. Owen has experimented with the "tuning" (twisting the ears and bowing them up or down) and it is still in one piece! It is amusing to listen to him instructing all the neighborhood kids, young and old (my retired neighbor), on how to throw it. This is one of the better investments in toys I've made. It is something Owen comes back to over and over and my 8 year old granddaughter enjoys it too. Definitely recommended.

Instructions Are Limited
Part of this may be operator error because we lost the label with instructions in the paper madness of Christmas. That being said we have bent and twisted this thing and still have not gotten the performance expected. Tried to find some help online but nothing there but a couple of performance youtube videos.

Does not return
Does not return. Tried following directions. I own a traditional boomerang (wood) and have used Nerf ones in the past without a problem.

Hard to get the hang of....
My daughter wanted a boomerang for Christmas, and this was close enough. I liked it because it was soft. You're supposed to twist it to adjust it, but I think it will be a while until any of us masters it....
