Sensory Sand Kit 4.4lbs (2kg) - ECO friendly, Blue

I had high hopes for this product based on the five-star reviews, but it has clearly failed to deliver. The sand itself is the poorest moldable sand we've ever owned. It's dry, crumbly, and messy. It lacks both the cohesiveness of the original Moon Sand and the fluidity of Kinetic Sand. The molds are incredibly thin, cheap, and small. You'll find better ones at the dollar store. The inflatable play mat came apart at the center seam the first day it was put to use, and the tiny pump included with it was broken straight out of the package. The storage container is as poor as everything else in this set. It arrived with a crack in the bottom. The handles are not attached to the sides and fall off every time children open it. All in all, I should have bought a small Rubbermade container, filled it with DeltaSand, and foregone the "extras."

Daughter loves the moon sand (as she calls it)... it is soft and stays moist. I haven’t had it dry out yet. But if it does I’ll add bit of water like they suggest. The toys that come with it are nice. Can make cute shapes etc. has a small shovel and rake and pyramid and castle and crab and so on. Lots and lots to use!!! My only negative comment is the actual Mat that comes with this. It’s suoer cheap. Made in China... yes it inflates but it doesn’t stay inflated. And? It got a hole already bc my daughter and her little friend wanted to inflate it themselves... guess what? Kids cannot he left to inflate it bc it will break. It broke at the opening bc they pulled too hard. It’s cheap. So... gotta be gentle and let and adult only blow it up or you will end up with a flat inflatable broken etc. super fast. It’s ok. Can easily buy a small cookie tray or something from your kitchen like baking sheet. Something that has bit of a side to it. The kids can dump the sand in there and so the same thing. Just sad that the inflatable was broken so quick.

My autistic son loves sand!! I thought he would love this.. the sand and toys are great! But the blow up tray.. has a pin size hole in it as soon as we opened it! So we had to put tape on it. We’ve onlyHad it for a week. The seams of it are coming apart now. Also, half of the sand was dried out so bad. It wouldn’t break apart. So I added a little water to try to break it up.. and that made It worse! If he wasn’t attached the toys already.. I would’ve returned it! Customer service hasn’t responded to my emails about sending a replacement either. I was going to order more sand. And bite the bullet about the tray.. but now I’m looking at different companies that actually take care of their customers.

We are exceptionally happy with our purchase! This sand is the best Kinetic/Sensory sand I have seen. It feels just like regular sand, only somewhat moist; like that ideal beach sand, perfect for molding alphabets, structures, or just squeezing between your fingers. It sticks to itself, but it does not stick to you.We originally purchased this for our 3 year old daughter. Her Occupational Therapist recommended using mold able sand because she is constantly seeking tactile input. She loves to touch, squeeze mold and shape the Sand. She plays with it for hours.Her older siblings and cousins are finding the sand to be a great learning tool! My 5 year old son spends hours doing pre-writing activities like drawing in the sand or molding letters, numbers and shapes.What is probably the most interesting is that the children and the adults find that the simple fluid movement and feel of the sensory sand very soothing. even my high-strung teenage son finds running his fingers through the sands airy texture stress-relieving and therapeutic!

I was hesitant to buy this because the price is so good. However, all of the reviews were spot on! It is a good size kit with lots of molds (Taj Mahal, pyramids, sea creatures, colleseum, and many more). It also came with a shovel and take. Both my 3 and 8 year old love it. It is big enough for them both to play at the same time. I took a picture next to a magazine and standard sized plastic fork so others can see how big it is. For the price, I think it's a great deal!

The sand in the kit is great! Overall its a great toy for kids and amazing for sensory. The reason I'm giving it 3 stars is because mine came with a missing clip so I couldn't fully close the container its in and a few of the tools it came with were broken, I'm sure just the sand is worth the price but the tool and everything else it comes with are made very cheap.

THE SAND WAS GREAT, THE TOYS WERE TERRIFIC, THE OUTSIDE PLASTIC CONTAINER - JUST FINE. HOWEVER - the inflatable deflated after 15 minutes. It was easy to inflate with the pump but must have had a defect because it wouldn't hold the air. Amazon, as always, backs up their products and gave me a refund. I had asked for an exchange of just the inflatable but they said they can't do that. Amazon as always a pleasure. Just had two disappointed little boys who wanted to play "in the sandbox" in side.

This is the second set of sensory sand I've bought my kids. They love it and the mess stays fairly minimal and contained in the inflatable tray. Anything that manages to escape can easily be vacuumed. The first set lasted a year easily with constant play. I thought my 5 and 7 year olds were getting too old and losing interest so it got thrown away... So here I am ordering more!
