Very nice, sturdy book
I just got this a couple days ago. There are 8 Table of Contents pages up front, and 184 ruled, numbered pages in the book after the ToC (PAGES, not sheets). Cover is sturdy, binding is also. Doesn't seem like it's likely to fall apart with rough usage. Pages are a soft, cream color. The lines on the pages are well spaced, a light grey color. No perforations for tearing out pages (makes sense since the pages are numbered). Storage flap inside both front and back covers. Elastic band to hold it closed, and one ribbon place marker built in as well. Arrived quickly with Prime shipping.

High quality paper, well-bound notebook, for fountain pens
High quality paper functionally bound in a notebook. Perfect for writing with a fountain pen or writing instruments that use fine inks. Works wonderfully with both dry and wet inks.

Best Paper In the World....?
FINALLY! A book with numbered pages that is fountain pen friendly! The only thing close to this is the Lechteruum (spelling?) notebooks, but even they have a little bleed and don't write as smoothly as the Clairefontaine paper. Clairfontaine says that its the best paper in the world... I would say that is is among the best. I really like the Mnemosyne for my spiral notebooks, and the Premium notebooks from Staples are good paper as well. Those are not better than this, and none of those have numbered pages, so you can write all your notes, then enter them into your glossary page at the beginning so you can always go back and find them again. Bravo.

Line spacing is too wide for me
This notebook is beautiful, and the creamy paper is lovely to write on. I use a Lamy fountain pen with Pilot Iroshizuku ink and a medium nib. The pen glides on the paper with no feathering or ghosting. I love that the pages are numbered and there is ample sections for a robust index. However, the line spacing is too large for an avid journalist, in my opinion. I included a picture of a page from the Leuchtturm soft cover lined A5 notebook of the same size on top of the Clairefontaine page to demonstrate the difference. The Leuchtturm notebook has 31 lines per page, not even including the title/date line. The Clairefontaine notebook has a meager 23 lines per page including the title/date line. That’s 35% more writing per page for the Leuchtturm. While the wider line spacing may be nice if you have large handwriting, I find it makes the pages look too sparse. I gave 4 stars because my particular nitpick isn’t something that I think would be a universal gripe, but I personally find wide ruling looks a bit childish and does not fit with the otherwise simple elegance of this notebook.

My findings
Looking at some of the negative reviews I wanted to check this paper out for myself. I've been using fountain pens for 52 years now and I am critical of the paper I use and for the most part I only use high quality paper when available to me. I am not sure if the paper quality has changed from a year or so ago but I have to say I find this good for fountain pen use. Mind you I only use extra fine nibs with all my pens and I do have a myriad of inks to try but I would be testing out inks for a month. So, to keep this simple I used some of the most common inks used and some not so popular. The paper does not feel like true Clairefontaine that many might be accustom to. This paper has a bit of grip to an extra fine nibs if the tip is not smooth enough. In all everyone is different and what one person finds great or acceptable might not be the case for the masses. I do like this dotted notebook and if you use a bigger nib size I do not think you will find any issues with this paper. I think the price is on point quality is very good as far as durability I will have to see. You get 4 index sheets (8 pages) and the last 8 sheets (16 pages) are perforated so you can remove them easily if need be. All pages are numbered and one notebook can be used for an entire year for bujo / journal entries which is a plus in cost savings. Your mileage may vary but overall I recommend these journals highly for those just starting in journaling or fountain pen ink hobby.

Writing with a fountain pen
I've tried several notebooks for journaling, looking for one that works well with a fountain pen. Clairefontaine is the best I've ever used. It's great for those who write with fountain pens.

Enjoying this notebook!
Using this notebook for my bullet journal. Soft cover fits well in my Galen Leather A5 journal cover. Binding seems sturdy and paper quality is excellent. Have had no bleed-through or significant feathering with inks of varying quality, and dry time seems reasonable as well. Will purchase again.

Quality Paper for Handwriting
Clairefontaine is French brand for stationery, Rhodia is also it's brand. The quality of paper from both are top notch for fountain pens, pens/ pencils. Excellent choice of paper always.
