I really love this Leatherman Shears I bought it for my friend as a gift for her new nursing job and she loves it and uses at work all the time.

First of all if I was looking for folding trauma scissors this the best option IMO.ok, after 15 minutes of careful filing with a 3000 grit half round cermic file and careful stropping this is great tool. I had to clean up the bottom of the flat edge scissor side, it was quite sharp the area that is most likely to contact skin. I put a light bevel on the outside edge of the serration so it can't catch you. I most definatly took the points off the outside tips of the scissors both blates and then filed around the s shape on the lower tip and rounded the front flat on the tip of the upper scissor. a good 5 micron cobalt compound on leather paddle stop to finish each spot and this is how it should have come. I also had the tighten the main hinge there was visible slack. I'm a bit annoyed the handles have security bolts but the right one needs tightened. when i get the correct bit I will fix it. all in all worth 40 bucks. if it was how I have mine "fixed" then it would be worth the full price. taking 5 flat perfect passes over the flat the serration and 2 on the top and 5 on each angle of the flat scissor made then operate like silk and cut like a dream. Please Leatherman, step up your game if these are to be made for first responders. Think of the patient too. put it on your skin and slide it and tell me it it's not sharp. I deburr medical parts as a machinist. Send it back to polish after assembly and put a bevel on that outer serration. I expect more from Leatherman than this. Furthermore i'd expect the ring cutter to be carbide. many mens rings are super tough materials. If it can't cut titanium and cobalt chrome it's not good enough.

In less than two months I have went through two pairs of these “highly recommended and highly priced” raptors.Yes, they work great and are multi purpose functional; however, your pocket book will take a hit every couple months and it is just not worth the price!Save yourself the hassle and the money!

These are a little pricey, so a bit of a splurge, but my nurse sister loved receiving them.

They are great but trying to find a holster is impossible. Everything made is for the first gen and they are not compatible at all.
