Simple Houseware Adjustable Closet Hanging Rod, Chrome

These are the absolute game changer for my closet! First of all, super easy to assemble, no tools needed, everything is included. My closet is original to the 1950's home in what was deemed the primary bedroom, so the largest closet between the three bedrooms. That said, I'm one of those gals that not only is forever adding to my wardrobe, but also one that takes extra good care of my clothing so I have pieces that I've owned for nearly 35 years. Anyhoo, I was able to hang three of these across the entire length of my closet, and because I am only 4'10", all my dresses, including my midis and maxis, as well as my skirts, are now hung at my eye level and so easily within my reach and perfectly within my view, much more handy since I prefer dresses, casual or dressy over slacks or skirts. All my blouses, blazers, casual jackets and "jumpers" are hanging on the upper rod. The steel that both the steel suspension rods that hook on to the upper solid wood dowel closet rod as well as the three steel rods are so stuffy, so robust and can hold up to 600 lbs! I'm not there yet, but the steel these are made of is similar to the rolling cart storage shelves restaurants use for storage and those shelving units can store up to 1000-plus lbs. The big plus is once this is fully assembled properly and hung at your preferred length, the hanging rod is essentially locked in place until you choose to alter the length, so definitely customizable. This has expanded my closet exponentially, securely, efficiently, and at an extremely reasonable cost, so much better than a custom closet makeover! Will update with photos later once I finish color organizing my wardrobe!

Just bought and assembled. So far, so good. Product works as it should and appears to be of good quality. Packaged very well, no damages from shipping. Includes 1 extra bracket clip set which is nice. Printed instructions are intelligible. Very easy to assemble and install. If you own any adjustable wire shelving units, this is put together the exact same way. Be sure to install the rod bracket clips at the same height on the vertical rods with the arrows pointed in the correct position. Vertical rods have grooved indicators that the clips *must* snap into. I modified the recommended install instructions to be sure the vertical rod hanger hooks were fully screwed in and aligned to the correct position to hang securely from the existing closet rod. I hung each vertical in my closet, slid the horizontal clothes rod up from underneath, then installed the rod bracket clips where I wanted and pushed the horizontal clothes rod down. The width is easy to adjust in place. (The instructions tell you to do all of this on a flat surface.) The horizontal clothes rod is very easy to adjust, but for added assurances I did not expand it to maximum width. The unit appears to be a very sturdy, but I don't want to push my luck. I wish the vertical rods were about two to three inches longer for my garments needs, but for most people this will work just fine. These vertical rods are also thin enough to not lose valueable hanging space on the already existing closet rod, which is a good thing. I would also prefer the unit's hanger hooks to be deeper, with more curve on the return downwards, to make the unit very difficult to swing and accidentally fall off the existing rod. On my old unadjustable metal and wood dowel rod extension, you would have to physically lift the entire rod unit upwards by about two inches -and then up and over- the existing rod to remove it. This unit hanger hooks are shaped more like clothes hangers. Do I think it's going to be a problem for me and most people? No... But if you have small children who might be tempted to use this product as a swing or as monkey bars, it might be possible to accidentally knock this off the existing closet rod with A LOT of effort. These products help to solve my "rental home's absolute bare minimum (read: brutalist) cheap closet that wastes so much valueable space" problems AND I can take them with me when I move. These are inexpensive, attractive options for renters to maximize their space with a quality but removable option- and they're nice enough I would be very pleased to keep using them in other accomodations in the future. I also bought 1 extra unit to possibly travel with in the future, because the packaging is quite small and would fit in luggage easily and assembles without any tools. If you're going anywhere for an extended stay, this might help make your stay more organized in a guest room or Air BnB closet, etc.

Bought this for my kids closest. Perfect to make the most of small spaces, especially for kids clothes. Ended up buying another one because the price is good. It is very sturdy and easy to put together.

Easy to assemble, my 5 year old had fun helping me. Took less then 5 minutes and it adjusts easily. My kids room has a drawer in the middle of the closet so I lost hanging space. This helped bring that space back. Its easy to adjust to fit your needs for the closet space. Quality is nice and it doesn't move easily.

I bought this extra clothing rack to add some space in my closet, and it was perfect for hanging extra clothes. It’s easy to assemble, feels sturdy, and gives you a nice amount of additional hanging room. Unfortunately the middle schooler saw it and immediately decided it belonged in her room instead.
