Oliver Hart Challenges You To Polish Your Art
I tend to buy a lot of albums by artists who produce thier own tracks cause I figure only you know exactly how you want to sound, and if you have the means to do it, go right ahead. But now I really have to admit, you have to be just a little wierd yourself to truly enjoy this album, hell Eyedea even gives you a disclaimer somewhere in the first 15 minutes. Every single track is filled with quotable lines and brain teasing metaphors, so much that it almost starts to make me jealous of his extraordinary writing skills and super-unique delivery; he sounds like a cartoon character that popped about thirty extacy pills and made an album as the trip wore out, nonetheless, he is being himself in the midst of the influence left over by Dj Abilities. To the person that only knows mainstream, and sorta somewhat has his baby toe in the wasteland of underground hip hop, let me tell you, Eminem is far from being the best white rapper of all time. Best selling, yes, but just disect some of these heads in the Rhymesayers camp and see if it doesn't change your perception just a little. Now, I know you're curious cuz you've already clicked on this CD AND scrolled down to look @ the reviews, so go ahead and take that final leap.

Like Babe Ruth trying to hit singles
The late, great Eyedea was one of the all-time great battle rappers, armed with a nimble, frenetic freestyle flow that won countless competitions. So of course, his album "The Many Faces of Oliver Hart" is packed with ... downtempo mope-rap? Don't get me wrong -- many of his tragic stories and philosophical musings hit the mark. But too many of them that don't, and the cumulative effect of all the dreariness brings the album down. We get a breath of fresh air when Eyedea lets loose with buddy Carnage on "Coaches," but that wild, hilarious dis-fest is then followed by more tracks that sound like Morrissey took up hip-hop. Artists frequently decry label heads interfering with their craft, and often rightly so, but Eyedea would have actually been well-served if a money-grubbing exec had forced him to drop some whizzing, witty wordplay on some Busta Rhymes collabo. Despite the title, we only get a few faces of Oliver Hart in this album, and the most attractive one is seen least.

Beautifully made album by Eyedea
Great album from my favorite rapper. The way Eyedea bends and twists his flow and words is crazy, not to mention the quality beats he's made for himself. Favorite tracks: Bottle Dreams, How Much Do You Pay, and Here For You. To be honest eye love the whole album. Boom Bap beats, jazzy flow and mad introspective. This cd will be in my car rotation for a long time, be sure to check out his work with DJ Abilities. These guys sound is incredible

One of the Greatest Albums Ever--in ANY genre
Eyedea was a genius. The man was brilliant and this album is phenomenally perfect from beginning to end.The range and depth of topics is wonderful and his lyrical ability is unmatched. If you want an artist who makes strange sounds or repeats anthems throughout his or her songs, then you've come to the wrong place. This album delves into life and human existence in a way I wish I could. Plus there are some straight battle raps.Untouchable.

If you don't have this...
All I can say is if you don't own this, you missed out! In a world of hum drum rap this album is not only great, it's a must listen. I could write some long technical review, but you always have to decide for yourself if something is good. So, if you can find a copy of this album buy it immediately! I promise, you won't be disappointed!

Oliver Hart Is the Apex of HipHop!
This is such an amazing album and is unlike any other hiphop album EVER. It is introspective and in your face; Eyedea puts all the songs together, conceptually, in way that flows like a smooth river. His lyrics are amazing and the shipping was crazy fast.

Loved this one - waited in vain for another like it
RIP Eyedea. this is a wonderful album that as far as I can tell let Eyedea do whatever he wanted. I really hoped to see another solo effort like it....a real loss to the music world.

Great showcase of a talented man
This album is similar to ATMOSPHERE'S - LUCY FORD EP's, deep, introspective, intelligent and emotionally stimulating. Eyedea done more or less everything himself on this album. Features Slug and Carnage on a couple of tracks, but other than that you get 17 tracks of Eyedea. Its a nice album, with no filler but has to played from start to finish in order to absorb it fully. If your a fan of intelligent deep almost abrstact at times hiphop then this is for you. RIP EYEDEA.
