Roasted red peppers just as good.
I was making a recipe that called specifically for these peppers. The recipe stated not to use roasted red peppers in place of these. I did follow the recipe when I made it the first time. I thought these peppers were just fine but I think roasted red bell peppers worked just as well. So I think it is a matter of person taste, what one can afford and how authentic you want.

Short refrigerator life
After first use I refrigerated the remainder and now see that after a way too short time it is growing mold. Very expensive for no shelf life once opened.

Pricey, but worth it for authentic product from Spain
Piquillo peppers were really good. I substituted roasted red bell peppers in recipes in the past as I was unable to find these at Trader Joes, Whole Foods or other local groceries. Somewhat expensive but worth the extra cost for a special occasion.

Sweet and spicy
Got this with a gift--the makings of paella. These spicy-yet-sweet peppers were the best part, so I bought more! I used them in salads, omelettes, sandwiches, fritattas . . you name it!

Sweet and smoky!
Peppers held their shape in jars. Used them to make a piquillo vinaigrette for a corn and burrata salad.

These are amazing, and value is great.
Ofter piquillos cost more, and are no better. In fact, these are som elf the best I have ever had.
