Worked on my dog's feet!
My dog had problems between his toes: bumps, red, oozing ... nasty! Our vet believed one area was an interdigital cyst, but this was happening between other toes, too. After a round of antibiotic, everything looked good again. Then it started coming back.I read the reviews here about CSR Chlorhexidine Solution after getting a recommendation from another dog owner, and, because of those reviews (and the low cost) I ordered a gallon. I diluted in a small spray bottle as directed and then started spraying between my dog's toes twice a day. After just one day, I could see a difference ... redness was fading. After about three days, everything was back to normal. Now I spray at the first sign of redness. I am convinced that whatever this is (fungal/yeast/bacteria), the CSR Chlorhexidine Solution is wiping it out or at least keeping it at bay. So far, there has not been a repeat of the nastiness.A gallon will last me a very long time ... and for this price, you can't beat it. In the reviews, there are other uses but I haven't tried it for mouthwash, dog shampoo, etc.Be sure to read the warning and keep away from eyes and ears!

Comparable to Hibiclens
I hate to admit it because of the price differences and the percentage of the active ingredient (Chlorhexidine Glutonate), but for me this is just as effective as Hibiclens and I have tried both and have used both daily as a body cleanser (human) & bug bite soother. Hibiclens is much more expensive, is thicker has 4% of the active ingredient and I would use this alone (producing a lather) in the shower after first washing with regular soap. This CSR is 2% Chlorhxidine & does not lather. I produce a lather with regular soap then add the CSR to that lather, apply, wait a min or so then rinse & repeat. Sometimes I'll use it alone on a wet cloth in odor prone areas after I have bathed then towel dry.I love Chlorhexidine (CSR or Hibiclens) because nothing works better on odor especially foot odor. I have a son going through puberty and this has been a life saver. Often I felt my showers "didn't take" in the words of George Castanza, until I found this product. :( Even drying off following a shower, sometimes I felt funk brewing on my clean towel, and by noon forget about it smh... This, coupled with a great anti-persperant where needed and I'm a whole new person! I can even remove shoes without thinking twice around others.Hope that embarrassing info can help someone as reading a similar review helped me when I first opted to try Hibiclens. :)

Worked on persistant skin problems!
I got this to use as a dip on my Sheltie who has had ongoing and hard to treat skin issues. I don't REALLY know what they were, but they presented as oily spots that looked like they should flake off but never did. I tried medicated shampoos (anti-fungal) and dips. I tried tea-tree oil and menthol salve. Even mouthwash. This was the only thing that worked and it worked after only a few baths. I mixed up a dilution (about 1-2 TBSP in a half gallon)and added some to her tea-tree shampoo and lathered her up nicely. I let it sit a few minutes and then poured more over her and worked it into the lather. This I let sit for about ten minutes (probable less though because she got restless.) I then used the rest of the 1/2 gallon to "rinse" away the lather, then rinsed with warm water. She is very soft and the spots are almost gone. I also give her yogurt as a treat as recommended by another site. That is supposed to be good for fungal infections and it is low cal, besides...I stopped giving her fruit a long time ago, too, because of the sugar (feeding the fungus?.) The dietary fixes did not seem to work, but maybe those changes will prevent future issues now that is is cleared up. Seems like a lot of folks have similar problems and that it is always something different that works for them. This is what worked for us and at this price I recommend giving it a try! I expect this gallon will last a long time for us...PS...I was super careful about her eyes and ears per others' warnings and the label. Looks like it could do some damage if you are not careful...

Money saver
I make dog mouthwash out of this. When you dilute it properly, it replaces the expensive (and sticky/thick) stream-spray mouthwash that the vet sold me for $15. The mouth wash discourages bacteria growth and thus tooth decay, so she recommended this instead of brushing, and since it's much easier to squirt a bit than brush with a tooth brush, this gets done daily. Look up the dog mouth wash with the name of this chemical, look at the percentage of chlorhexidine in the mouthwash, and calculate the dilution (with distilled water.) Use a spray bottle like the kind a boxer would use in a ring in between rounds. I bought a bottle from my vet, and I am re-using that.

bacteriocidal
It is what it is. Chlorhexidine is the gold standard anti microbial.Use it on my dogs when they get cuts or scrapes. Also used it recently when one needed knee surgery, bath with it before and kept incision clean after. Also use it on myself for cuts
