Ion Explorer Outback Wireless Rechargeable Speaker

Okay, it's been several months now and I must say that I LOVE this speaker/sound system!! I am all about FEELING my music and not just hearing it. This speaker right here gives me the music experience I've been longing for. I use it daily indoors, but my main reason for purchasing it was for an outdoor party. It works great for both indoor and outdoor purposes. ** Might I add that the speaker arrived at my door the DAY before my party--THANK YOU to the shipper, it came a day early :-D [[::SOUND::]] It gets LOUD!! I haven't even gone too far past the halfway mark--my neighbors complained the one day that I did. It comes with an ACV cable to connect your devices... it's quite short though, maybe 12" long so be prepared to lay your devices right on top of the speaker if you don't have an adjacent table or chair to sit them on. So you don't need to purchase another cable--I made that mistake thinking that it didn't come with one. The sound quality varies depending on how you connect to your devices: via bluetooth or cable. The sound is not as strong as connecting via the ACV cable. So whenever possible, I recommend connecting via the cable. Otherwise, the bluetooth connection may seem kind of static-sounding the more the volume increases. I use my iPod with this speaker the most. I noticed that when the volume is all the way up on my iPod, it's too much for the speaker to receive, thus distorting the sound slightly. The trick I figured out is to lower the iPod volume just 1-2 notches and increase the volume on the speaker and the sound is PERFECT. [[::DEVICES USED & CONNECTIVITY::]] I've connected the following devices via cable and bluetooth: MacBook Pro, Acer Chromebook, LG G4 Android phone, iPod Touch (most recent generation, I believe it's 7). [[::FEATURES::]] Charging: I use the USB outlets to charge my iPod Touch and phone whether or not I'm using the speaker. I have not had a need for the microphone function yet. I don't believe I have tested it yet. Radio: Oh my goodness, as I'm staring at my speaker thinking of whatelse to write about, I noticed the "radio" buttin for the first time, lol! So I JUST litterally got through turning on the radio! Amazing! I just set my presets as well. The quality is great! I love this speaker even more :-D --------------------------------- [[::ISSUES & MINOR FLAWS::]] ANNOYING IDLE NOISE When the speaker is on and idle, it makes an annoying noise whether the USB cables are inserted or not. I can hear it when I'm less than 5-10 feet away from the speaker. If it's across the room, you probably wouldn't notice it. TURNING OFF It doesn't shut off on its own. Also, when plugged in, the blue charging light stays on even when you turn off the speaker. So, to turn off all lights on the panel, I have to physically remove the power cable from the wall. However, it's probably a good practice to do this anyway. TOP SHELF NOT DEEP ENOUGH The top surface of the speaker isn't deep enough to hold the devices on it very well when you are wanting to roll the speaker to another location. It would have been nice for the back of the speaker to raise up an inch to keep devices from sliding off to the back. MESSY LOOK WITH CABLES PLUGGED IN This would be resolved if the top shelf was deep enough to hold the cables instead of the cables hanging all over the place. NO BLUETOOTH SWITCHING The speaker only connects with one bluetooth device at a time--it does not have bluetooth "memory" where it can connect with and record several bluetooth devices to easily switch to like some other bluetooth speaker brands can. So, anytime I want to switch to another bluetooth device, I have to either 1) turn off bluetooth on the current device to allow the speaker to pick up the next device, or 2) manually press the bluetooth button on the speaker to turn it off to allow it to connect to another device which is inconveniencing if you're away from the speaker. BATTERY CHARGING GAGE NOT HELPFUL I don't think I've ever seen the charging gage show as fully charged. It always seems like it's not fully charged as the animated gage continues to show the battery graphic fill up one level at a time in a reapeating fashion. So I really don't know what it takes to fully charge the battery which is why I just plug it in to use it. However, it will show the batter gage with less levels as it looses its charge. --------------------------------- Overall, an amazingly great quality versatile speaker that will make you very happy.

My 4th Bluetooth speaker. I've been a big fan of the RadioShack brand Auvio, for the sound quality and the price. But their biggest battery model is only 40 watts and the battery only lasts 4 hours. And 4 beach trips destroyed the metal grill. So I saw this at my cousins house and was blown away. Darn thing is on wheels with a telescoping handle! It's a Bluetooth guitar amp speaker! And it sounds great. Big woofer and big tweeter. And the other reviews are right. It is crazy loud. But the fact that it is waterproof (says you can leave in the rain) and has a 100 hour battery. Wow. You should know it is an old school battery. 12v. Guessing deep cycle. You'll have to follow the instructions to maintain the life. But it is worth it to get 100 hours of juice. Can't be happier.

So overall this speaker is pretty awesome. I worked at a lumber mill during the Summer and played music on this. This thing can get LOUD. I could hear the music through earplugs and machines running! Great sound quality. I haven't used the radio or mic potions, so no idea how those are. But for music this thing is awesome. Bluetooth works well too. Still received music from my phone from 30-40 yards away. Now, the claim that the battery lasts 100 hours is total BS. Especially when playing loud music. I could keep it unplugged at work for maybe 4-6 hours before having to charge it. Not even close to 100 hours. I don't even think it could reach anywhere near that on low volume. Also at times while playing music unplugged, the speaker would randomly turn off, even if it the battery was 100 or 50%. Other than these issues, this speaker is a great buy.

Great price and better than any of my friends Bluetooth speakers (some of them far more expensive). The sound is even better then I expected, and the battery life is amazing. I go weeks without charging it. I have unfortunately tested the waterproofness when it rained on us one night, and it never skipped a beat. The Bluetooth range is great for outdoors, and it pairs super fast which is great when you're constantly switching between phones at a party. Even the radio is great, its signal is impressive, even without an extendable antenna. The main reason that I bought this speaker was that it rolled with an extendable handle, and it really does roll well, you can tell that they didn't cheap out on any features on it. I recommend it to all my friends and I would have kicked myself if I had spent the same amount at Walmart, nothing is as good.

Amazing unit, plenty loud! Very long lasting battery. I bought this for the garage and camping, and I used it about 10 times in the garage for a few hours and it was still only at 3/4 battery. Camping it is great for charging devices, but that does suck battery considerably faster than playing music. Not as bassy as I thought they would be, that was the only downside for me and something I considered going to 4/5 stars for, BUT but the sound is crisp and does go very loud. I love the rugged design, the composite dismondplate siding, the light bar is great.

Good product. But quality at higher level is not great. Handle, and wheels are nice. Holds a good charge. Wish LED strip was larger.

I've bought about 4 of these things. stupid good value. Loud/clear sound for parties. My 2 car garage gym can only handle the sound level at about 50% before it's just too loud. Nice and crisp sound on low settings as well. This could be in a nook playing music while drinking your morning coffee or at the beach when you're grilling and jamming out. Battery life is outstanding! I use mine about 1 hour a day and haven't charged it in about a month. life saver when we lost power as well during storms. Charged a few phones off of this thing and could've done so dozens and dozens of times. When I don't know what to get someone for Christmas or Birthdays, this is the thing I get them! Everyone loves it!

I don't normally write reviews, but I'm trying to save someone the same grief we've experienced. This is the first item I've purchased from Amazon that I've had a problem with. (And I use Amazon A LOT!!!) Purchased for our building and parties with hopes of also using the battery option for outdoor activities and camping trips. Wrong. We kept it in our building for several months, plugged in while using with no issues. We love the speaker, microphone works great, the sound is more than enough for the area in which we use it (30' x 60' pole barn) The first time we unplugged it to take it outside the battery worked for less than 5 minutes. Since we used it for several months before trying out the battery-life it's too late to return it. I emailed the company over a month ago and still no response. Amazon will not help since it was sold and shipped from a different seller. Save yourself the grief and find a different speaker! I've seen a smaller version at Walmart but refuse to lose any more money to this brand! Money down the drain!!!

Read all the reviews and went with this speaker. Been using for a month now and am very happy with my purchase. Highly recommend!

It’s a great speaker works real great but the battery isn’t as good after a couple months and the music can get a little bad quality if there’s too much bass
