Pure henna has no metallic salts or PPDs, which would be not only bad for your hair, but if you ever decided to go back to box hair color, you could have disastrous results.After searching online, I found some tests I could do to make sure this is pure Henna, since it didn’t say it on the label. I followed these instructions:Mix up a teaspoon of henna, with warm water and dye some loose shed hairs with it. When the hair has been dyed, mix 1 ounce of 20 vol peroxide with 20 drops of ammonia. Add the hair strands to this solution. If nothing happens, you have pure henna. If the hair strands turn green, melt, boil, change colour immediately, or smells strange (not like grass), then that henna has been tainted with metallic salts. Do NOT use this henna on your hair.This Henna, Yogi’s Gift, tested to be pure! Nothing but henna! I am so happy about this, because it is reasonably priced!Now, I feel comfortable to use it on my hair!

I bought my henna powder along with a bag of indigo powder back in 2023. This month I have been making my own henna paste and it gives a beautiful reddish brown color when I mix 50/50 henna to indigo along with black tea, lemon juice and eucalyptus oil. The henna tattoos are lasting 1-2+ weeks. Very happy to have found this. Note: I do sift before adding liquids and them strain through a pair of nylons to ensure no lumps are in my cones.

This along with their indigo (when applied correctly) made my hair look & feel amazing! I used 100g mixed with filtered water (yogurt consistency) after 6hr, indigo 100g (same as above) then as soon as it was smooth & like yogurt. I mixed it with the Hanna and applied it on all my long hair, wrapped hair in Saran Wrap for 2hrs. Stuck my hair in a tub of cold water to get most off then rinsed the rest off with cold water (in the shower). Waited 3days to wash & another day more to put coconut oil onto my hair/scalp. My hair was beautiful for over 4wks(doing nothing else but combing). Now I’m planning on doing this again, my hair looks fine but my scalp is starting to itch (my scalp was itch free for over 4wks). 7/14/23 11hrs henna sat (mixed with Luke warm water) then made indigo (mixed w/hot water) then combined them both, placed plastic around hair/head & placed a knit cap. 2hrs & rinsed w/cold water and will wait 72h to wash/condition & another (96hs) to use styling stuff (coconut oil). Very pleased (hair looks shiny & beautiful w/no shampoo or styling stuff)

To be most polite to write this review, it’s bad, just so bad. I put henna and then this, never works. Initial one time my hair looked maroonish, so I was still ok, but after that it always looks orange. I have followed the instructions to keep the indigo for a few hours and even the other way the indigo is generally supposed to work, but oh so orange still 😒. I kept telling myself I am not doing it right, but after trying so many permutations and combinations , it is the product, not me. No idea what is wrong with it.

I’ve been using henna powder to dye my hair for 20 years. I like this brand. Comes together nice, dies my grey hair with beautiful earthy red tones. Lasts a long time and makes my hair feel healthy and shiny.

i read that adding indigo makes the regual henna closer to brown, this product works well to darken the henna. I have been dying with henna for years and will never go back to chemical colorants.

Initially I used to get black color with this indigo. Have been using for quite sometime. Recently I am not getting black color. I used 2 step process by applying after henna on hair.
