Alex Discover My First Scribble Kids Art and Craft Activity

This is a 5 star item for sure! I was very hesitant to buy this product simply because it's pretty expensive for a pad of paper! I have a 2 year old and he loves to color. We were going on trip so I was looking for items to keep him busy and this was recommended to me from a friend. My son doesn't understand coloring yet and prior to this little book he would scribble all over the table instead of on the paper or color book. He would also proceed to rip the paper up. So coloring became not fun for Mommy so we put it away for awhile. Now that I have this little book we can color again! He loves to scribble on this paper and pretend he's actually coloring the picture. Each page has a big picture and a little picture down in the corner. He likes to color the little picture best. I also like that the back of each page is blank so while he coloring I will write a big letter that we are working on so we work on letters and color ! It comes with a few sheets of stickers too that he likes to use on the paper or mostly on his body! The biggest thing i Love about this book is that it is very durable and the paper is very thick. He is not able to rip the pages out or tear the paper. I use to get frustrated with him ripping paper all over the place and ripping up other books. I now don't have that problem ! I can give him this book and a crayon and not have to stress that he is going to make a giant mess (TIP: Use washable crayons just in case ! hah)

This is a review to thank all the previous reviewers for reviewing, without you I wouldn't have even considered buying this. Really almost $10 for a pad of paper?? but since everyone loved it I took a chance. I'll only add that I started my 15 month old with a box of crayons and a hello kitty book, nothing happened so i put it away. Then i picked up a tip from a mom, first just let baby play with crayons then in a couple of days put out only one crayon i did this but nothing. Then I ordered this book. It just seemed that baby wasn't as overwhelmed by the pictures and boom scribble scribble! Now for the details the book is very sturdy she can't rip it and i like that it can grow with your child ( we aren't using the pages of stickers that come with it yet, but there very nice and not cheap) then each page has a picture but just the outline so baby can scribble (example one page has a giant bowl and a little monkey but not the spoon or cereal etc get the idea?) the back pages are left blank for freestyle crayoning (LOL) but what i really like is that i will have a keepsake of her first scribbles! i just wrote the date on the top of each page, i'm sure i won't be throwing this book out and its all neat and in one place. UPDATE: Our baby is now a toddler 27 months and still loves this. We added pip squeak markers to encourage more drawing (greater color payoff). It is our go to restaurant take along activity, I put a pip squeak on each end of the spine of the book and off we go. Super happy with this purchase.

I was pleasantly surprised by this coloring book. It is sturdy and perfect for my rambunctious almost two year old Grandson who is just beginning to explore coloring. The laminated pages work as a wipe off surface so he can scribble all he wants; I just wipe it off with a dry magic eraser and he starts again. He is able to flip through the pages himself without tearing them and flips back and forth between the already colored laminated covers and the page that he's working on. The heavy-duty spiral binding is perfect to keep the pages laying flat. The pictures are large and simple for now and I can see the potential for future creativity when he is older so I purchased an extra to pack away for later. I read several reviews that said that the stickers did not come off easily but I have not had that problem at all. I bought it for $7 and now it's on sale for under $6 and so I am buying a couple more for gifts!

I really love the coloring book but for $10 I wouldn't buy it for my 2 1/2 yr old again. The pictures are big and low in detail...EXACTLY what a toddler needs! The paper is thick! The book is sturdy! It is very appropriate. My personal issue is my son just scribbles...well, obviously. And I don't like myself for paying $10 for him to scribble all over these really great and young child friendly pictures. I am putting it away for about 6 month and seeing if by then he is more capable of somewhat coloring and not destroying the page with wild scribbles which I love but he can do on normal paper. If you looking to buy this just decide if you want to pay $10 for scribbles on some really cute and simple to color pictures that maybe a 3 yr old could get some quality experience out of as a first coloring book. Otherwise the book itself is wonderful!

Well made book- even came with two pages of stickers- which was a nice surprise- especially since they are large and I purchased this as a gift for a child who just turned one and is just starting to like stickers and coloring. Each page does have a photo on it already- something I was not expecting- as I thought this was just a blank book with white pages but that is OK- as the pictures are an added bonus and opportunity to teach about animals, bugs, etc. Only thing is that it is a bit pricey...I think $2 less would have been a much fairer price- but it was a gift and this looked so cute and what I had in mind and there is nothing else like it that I have seen.

This is the second "My first" scribble coloring book that I have purchased and I think they are the best coloring books out there, especially for toddlers and pre-schoolers that may not be able to color really intricate designs. The ability to trace and complete pictures unleashes their creativity and my girls will often play for an hour with this. The durability of the paper is also excellent, unlike traditional coloring books, the paper is harder to rip out and provides for a neater (less messy) experience. I will continue to purchase these and gift them for friends' kids birthdays as well! They are ALWAYS a hit!

Big pages with lot's of room to scribble. The pictures are simple, large and outlined in black and and not cluttered with detail. Perfect for my 19 month old grandson who is just learning to "colour". The flip chart design works much better then a book.

So much fun! Wonderful idea to have a basic picture then ask the kit to scribble on top.
