Eva NYC Brass to Sass Brunette Conditioner, Blue Conditioner for Brassy Hair, Neutralizes Brassy Red and Orange Tones, 8.8 fl oz

BEST KNOCK DOWN RED SHAMPOO EVER!!!
i am a DIY hair cutter and froster, and the frost/painting kit I use is for dark blonde/brunette hair, and to paint streaks to go blonde and as is often the case, If not left on for a really long time brunette to blond will come out very brassy or reddish, instead of a cool blonde - AND the mixed blue lightening developer always makes it hard to tell how red it still is rather than up to blonde.. So I have been DIYing this for MANY years and have tried SO MANY brassy reducing shampoos, conditioners, toners, etc. none of which worked to any noticeable degree to make a difference. UNTIL THIS Eva NYC. I had been using the Eva NYC Satin Dream smoothing shampoo, but when I went to reorder I saw all of the other choices pictured and clicking through them saw this Brass to Sass Brunette shampoo, read through the reviews, andthought I would try it. SO GLAD I did, it really worked on my hair. My curls are perm curls, my hair is fine, and the DIY paint/frost I'm sure makes it more porous so possibly better to adopt the blue correcting color shampoo over red tones and it CERTAINLY works for me. The shampoo is so blue it turned my hands blue, but thankfully a good washing with soap and warm water brought them right back to normal. No blue tips to my fingernails either. I'm too impatient to take the time to put on gloves and I think I am tough/don't need them. Very happy with this shampoo and I'll keep using it because I have plenty of other products to add on after for smoothing. Subduing the reddish tone was paramount for a nice base to start with. And I don't mind a little red, in fact it can be quite lovely in brunette hair, but want some of the lighter frosted pieces to be a clear, clean, cool blonde and this goes a long way to get me there (and help camouflage any gray!). I like my hair to have dimension with many various hues of brunette, red and blonde. like the natural sun would create. The first photo with green jacket was a few days after first washing and fluff out so not as defined as when it is first done, like 2nd photo. First photo is blonder for summer; 2nd winter, darker and accepting of more subtle reddish tones. Might go back to Satin Dream for winter, we'll see. Like to have fun with it but I don't stray far from my usual.

It really works!
I got some terrible highlights done at a salon that ended up super warm and brassy when I wanted cool ash blonde. Since I am naturally a dark blonde, and my highlight were a #9, I was unsure if this was going to work. But boy did it cut a lot of the brassiness and red hue! I had tried purple shampoo, but it did nothing, do relieved that this did the trick.

Works!
Liked this product for helping brass in hair. I don’t like the texture really that it leaves but I did not get the conditioner so that could be my fault!

The pump is faulty and you can’t get product out without it
Guess I’ll never know if this conditioner is good for toning brassy hair. The pump was stuck closed and after working on it for 20 minutes with no success, I resorted to twisting it forcefully. The pump broke and the product is securely stuck in the bottle. Inverted it into a slightly larger bottle for 12 hours and not a drop would come out. Eva NYC’s products are usually good so this is pretty disappointing.

Worst dispenser ever
I would have actually given this product five stars if it was in a dispenser that you could actually get the product out of easily. This is horrible. The pump doesn't work and the container is metal so you can't even squeeze it out after taking the lid off. The actual conditioner works very well. I wouldn't leave it in too long, 10 minutes seems to work well for me. Wash your hands right away after using to prevent staining. I'm going to be looking for a different blue conditioner to see if I can find one with the better dispenser that works as well. What a shame that they obviously didn't think this through. P.S. please always submit a picture with a review or a detailed description at least. Too many products on Amazon are being switched with another product that are them showing reviews that do not belong to the listed product. When I contacted Amazon about one such product they did not seem very concerned and did not remove the product. Very disturbing. I would like to know that the stars and reviews on the product that I'm looking at are for the actual product that I am considering buying.

Above and beyond what I expected
I'm not one to leave reviews but listen.... I didn't expect much. So I just wet me natural brown hair and did a mask then showered washed with clarifying shampoo and left it on again in the shower a little bit washed again with clarifying shampoo and used my normal conditioner. Omg! In the sunlight my hair looks almost dyed like that deep redish box kit. When it's not in the sunlight it just looks really dark brown but I hate the red hues this cooled it completely down. Literally no trace of it. I can't open the pump of the bottle LOL so I had to just dump it in my hands and this is a can for whatever reason? So you can't squeeze it. It's also smaller than what the picture looks like but if I were smart I would look at the ounces LOL That's literally my only complaint but it works very well especially for the price!
