BLACK+DECKER Wireless Remote-Control Outlet, Polarized, 1 Remote

I bought this specifically so I could turn off our Wi-Fi router at night without having to get out of bed. I’m trying to be more intentional about creating a healthier home environment, and I wanted an easy way to shut the router down overnight. It has worked perfectly for what I needed. My bedroom and router are on the same floor, and the remote works reliably from my bed. I simply keep the remote by my bedside, hit OFF at night, and turn the router back on in the morning. Such a simple and clever solution to something that was otherwise inconvenient. I originally bought it for this one specific purpose, but I can already think of other things around the house it would be useful for. Definitely one of those inexpensive purchases that makes everyday life a little easier.

bought this for my 80 mother , because she had a hanging lamp with the on off switch way down by the outlet near the floor,,behind the blinds and couch,, very difficult to get to ,, plugged it in, plugged in the lamp,,, presto,, no more crawling around to turn the lamp on!. She loves it, said it was "grandma" approved. she is planning on buying more for other lamps in the house as she has arthritis and the twist type of knobs on lamps are difficult for her to use, but the push button on the remote is very easy to operate. Great little gadget!

This product was very easy too use and was very small and not so noticeable. All I did was plug in the product and plugged my lights into it, now all I gotta do is use the remote control too turn them on and off. This product was helpful bc I was plugging and unplugging my lights into the outlet on top of my ceiling, it was very annoying so this product is clutch fr.

I purchased one of these units for use with string lights that otherwise had no plug. Was so pleased with the simplicity that I later ordered two more, for a total of three in my three story home (one on each floor). Turns out one remote can, and will, control lights on all three levels of the house, even though they're pretty well spaced out. I'll probably have to find a way to move all the plugs to one room, or give the extras away.

Why did you pick this product vs others?: These work great, and the price and quality of them are very good. Easy to setup and the quality is very nice. Cheaper than having to install wires and paying an electrician. I use one with a table lamp in bedroom, and velcro the remote to the entry door. Works great 👍

Ok, while it works. It worked Ok, though not ideal. I normally had a distance between remote and receiver just a two- three feet with my wooden deck in between, but it would sometimes fail to respond until I move it a few inches here and there - so there were spots where it interfered with other devices. But worse is that it stopped working completely after just over a year. For a device without moving parts and not exposed to any extreme environment it is unacceptable.

Works perfect and it is exactly what I was looking for just two prongs that plug in to a regular extension cord
