Maybe the best book on the life of joseph
I really like This book about the life of Joseph and the parallels That Dr Linux draws between Joseph and Jesus And then Joseph and us Period We all need to know more about forgiving people Especially people in our family who we feel have done us wrong Period Sometimes we think people have done us so wrong that we could never forgive them But if that's the case God could never forgive us But he does And then he In turn tells us to forgive others In the same way we have been forgiven Period There's just so much good Deep rich stuff here That it's worth a read. It's not a difficult read, and he's not over theological in the Seminary sense that would make the book a textbook rather than a book to read. This book is very readable and very enjoyable.

Outstanding
I've been looking forward to this commentary on Joseph for some time and I'm happy to confirm it does not disappoint. This is not a dry academic offering from a professor, rather it sits in a very comfortable half-way house between academic learning and a devotional for the follower of the carpenter from Nazareth. There is probably just the right amount of background information re: ancient history and middle eastern culture to give a backdrop to the Joseph narrative. The author draws out some beautiful insights from the Genesis account, his commentary on Leah, Joseph's aunt, is very touching. There is a lot of truth in here and several times I found myself nodding in easy agreement with the author. All too often I asked myself why does Genesis 37-50 not tell us more (on specific subjects), so I was encouraged the author was asking the same questions. This commentary from Professor Lennox is not hard to recommend. For further reading I suggest:Charles Swindoll. Wonderful!
I saw this book referred to in my Sunday School book recently, so I read it. It is amazing, and I loved it! Very readable and thought provoking. Lennox brought up many things about Joseph and his family that I had never thought of. Highly recommend!

excellent exposition
The influence of David Gooding is less obvious here than in his, also excellent, book on Daniel. This is a very helpful exposition of the story of Joseph and will be a help to preachers and general Christian readers alike.
