Light strips attach to the four arms leading from the middle of the canopy to the corners. These lights plug into the 4-1 adapter. From the adapter you can either plug the battery pack in or use the extension cord from the top middle down to the a corner to make the battery pack more accessible. The slim design of the lights allows the lights to stay on even when the canopy if folded up. Since everything is plug and play the lights can be ready to use in minutes! ---- canopy, chair, and batteries not included

Updated from 5* to 3*: Appears to be a "universal fit" for many, and for me the Coleman 13' Canopy
There is nothing written or published or otherwise communicated which matches my Coleman to this LED canopy lighting system. But as I take measurements and plan where to put anchors or how to run the power cable to one of the four tent-poles, I can see that this system will last a good long while, and no matter that it was Made in China. Truth be told, the Jhinese make some very nice small electronic components.LED lights are simple things, and they should last for years. The four light strips draw power in parallel from a 12V source. Using only one or two, your batteries would last twice as long.Stringing the lights to the canopy is easy. open your pocketknife and keep it handy when you attempt to disassemble the battery tray for your 8 AA batteries. Lithium may last a few times longer than Alkaline regular AA's. That's an expectation I haven't yet tested with these. As long as the electrical power is clean and not erratic, the LEDs should -- I already said it -- last for years. Their particular wiring within the cables bears on whether the whole strip goes bad when one LED goes bad. I would bet that the LEDs are wired in parallel. That, too, spells longevity. Now -- about the battery container or power-pack. It could be easily broken, but you need to pry up gently on one of the two buckles which hold the container halves together. You then have to pull the upper box away from the lower one, to release the tabs which act as a hinge. If you intend to become expert at the disassembly and keep an open pocketknife nearby so that you can use it in a delicate prying operation, get it right the first time. Those buckles are at high risk for being broken. But I have an even better idea, which is probably going to cost me more than many would think worth it. Battery maintenance is one of the tasks I've sought all my life to avoid. I don't like having to swap batteries in and out. Perhaps I'm just lazy.Westinghouse, Jackery, Bluetti and several others make Lithium-Ion rechargeable "generators" with outputs for AC, 12V DC, USB (two options for plugs). Many, like the first two mentioned, have 8mm plug connections for 12V DC. And they allow for recharging by AC wall socket, 12V DC vehicle cigar-lighter socket, or solar panels. Various panels are recommended for any particular model.Whichever components I might choose, it represents a $600 investment -- in eliminating battery maintenance for the LED strips. It may be that simply powering the lights with their eight AA batteries, maybe Lithium as well, may be the better way to go. But the generators -- solar ones at that -- also provide cell phone, laptop or tablet power and charging. Occasionally, one might want to sit under the canopy to work with a tool like a Dremel, and one could plug it into the AC output of the generator. As far as the LED lights are concerned, it would be a minimal draw on such a generator. With the connectors provided with the LED lighting kit, it would be easy to use a solar-generator for power. The canopy would never be without light at night.UPDATE: I'm still waiting to receive the proper output DC power cable for my Westinghouse iGen600S to use with this light kit. In the meantime, I've run through 16 (two change-outs) Energizer Lithium-Ion AA batteries which had a shelf-life to 2040. I could not have had the light system switched on for more than a cumulative nine or ten hours -- total -- before the second set of AA batteries was consumed. If you're looking for an LED canopy light system that will get you through one July 4 barbecue, you can count on this. But for longer term usage, you're going to change out a lot of AA batteries, which is inconvenient and expensive.

Great for camping and tailgating
I bought the 4 foot length to do a craft show. While they were light enough to read by and seem well made, they didn't highlight my products at all. These will be great for camping or tailgates, but not ideal for craft shows or festivals where bright lights would be needed.

I wouldn't buy this if I were you.
This was a replacement set for the ones that were purchased initially because the quit working after only a couple of days. Received this set and they didn't work at all after being installed. Figured out that it was the battery pack and had to buy a new one to get the previous set to work after returning this one.

Works great!
This worked out very well indeed. Simple to connect and it gives sufficient light throughout the area with little shadow.
