These switches work as intended, for switching low voltage power to various devices which use a standard barrel plug and jack. Despite the vendor offering them as 12 volt switches, there is a UL imprint on the underside that lists 120 volts at 2 amps (see photo).Switches have a solid feel and snap between positions.The switch state can be hard to read in low light, but I doubt that would be an issue after a couple uses.This is a great option for an in-line switch for accessories on my e-bike.

I use these for guitar processors that have batteries in them and I like to keep powered by ac/dc wall adapters. I don't have to pull the guitar cord out of the input of the processor to de-power the processor and the batteries are being used when the guitar cord is kept plugged into the input where most of the power switches are on guitar floor processors are. I also have a ac/dc mixer I use these with which is powered the same way for the same reason as the guitar processors. This is compatible with 2.1mm center conductor dc power plugs on the input and output only. 2.1mm center on the power plug, 2.1mm center in the units. Not 2.5mm.

These switches were just the thing for my LED lighting project - great value - decent enough quality.

This in-line switch was exactly what I needed to easily turn on-off an LED strip I mounted under a shelf inside a closet. Switch is easy to move and the unit seems well-made. I just wish I could have bought one.

I bought this as a means to toggle power to my cable modem. It did not fit, despite being the correct outer diameter. It turns out there are two different sizes of 5.5mm DC barrel jacks. Both are the same outer diameter, but one kind has a 2.1mm inner pin diameter, and the other 2.5mm. This product is only compatible with the 2.1mm pin size. I thought they would be universal in fit, but I was wrong and wasted $8.Be very careful before ordering, and check the inner pin of the jack you intend to use this with. If it looks like the larger size, don't order this. It's a very small difference but I was bitten by it.I can't really rate this product because it was not inaccurate in its description, but I still have a useless product. Amazon requires that I give a rating in order to post this, so I will give it 3 stars, because the description should be more clear that there are different sizes of 5.5mm jack and that this is not universal.
