Great Game That Can Bring Back The Feels
Full disclaimer: I haven't owned a Rockband set since the original one came out for the Xbox 360. When I received this game, I was pleasantly surprised how different the quality is/was compared to my old Rockband set. I was also excited to learn that both the drums and the guitar were fully wireless. Microphone is still corded, but I think that adds to the effect of realism. I was also excited to see that most, if not all, the songs I purchased on the original version still ported into this game... meaning I didn't have to pay for them again. Now that's awesome! I have had the game for almost a month now, and I have had no quality issues. The pedal still seems to be in very good condition, and the drum pads still seem responsive. I can only speak for the drums right now, because that's all I tend to play. I have purchased almost $100 of add-on songs at this point, and find it worth it since a lot of the songs are from my high school and college days, and takes me back to the "feels" of those days: No Doubt, Matchbox 20, Weezer, etc... I enjoyed playing through the career mode, and getting my own documentary ( a la VH1 - where are they now? ). I think the game is well worth the price, and will bring hours upon hours of fun. I am currently trying to get proficient at playing my favorite songs on "Hard Mode" and as I'm getting better... I'd like to eventually purchase a real drum kit because of this game. Inspirational to say the least.

Still fun!
I like the song selection and the fact that all of my songs from previous rock bands ported over nicely (RB1, 2, and 3). I play drums mainly and feel as though the drums aren't as responsive as they were in previous installments. Maybe I'm just getting older and can't play on expert like I use to, but sometimes the yellow and blue pads don't want to register a hit. Aside from that there are plenty of fun songs to choose from and it keeps me active! Seriously, drumming is a workout.

Double hits on the drum and no resolution from the company.
I bought this in order to replace a broken drum set from the original Rock Band 4 Band set, made by Madcatz. I had gotten a lot of use out of it, but eventually the red drum snapped off of it.The drum felt like it was of good quality. The kick pedal was registering the hits very well. There was an issue with the drums, however. They very frequently register double hits, breaking any streak you have. I searched around, and apparently this is a common problem, but after a return or two, it's a great piece of equipment. My main complaint is with the customer service. I contacted them, and received a prompt reply. They wanted me to try resetting the drum. I did that, but this did not resolve the issue. They said they could start a return, but they needed a single photo with the following: the product, a proof of purchase, and the case number they gave me, handwritten. This was kind of a pain, as the drum was so big that it was hard to get the proof of purchase and case number to also be readable. I did this, but a few days later, I got a response asking me to do the same resetting procedure, but on the guitar. I had no issues with the guitar, in fact I hadn't used it yet. I explained this, and was asked to provide that picture again. I explained that I had already done that, and they said they were elevating my case, and would try to provide a response in one business day. A week later, I asked why they hadn't responded yet. THAT was 5 days ago.The product seems to be of good quality, but this one issue has made the drums nearly unplayable for me, and the customer support has been atrocious. DO NOT BUY this if you are a high-end drum player. You will not be able to achieve the scores you would with previous drum kits.

The GOOD: Rockband 4 (and Rivals which is just an ...
I held off on switching from Rockband 3 for a while. Giving time for Harmonix to work out the kinks and let me get my library I paid alot for to come with me.The GOOD:Rockband 4 (and Rivals which is just an expansion to RB4) now have a really clean port that can bring most of your library with you! The game is the usual fun for the whole family. The guitar is ok. Honestly not that much changed in feel from the RB3 version. There are some more buttons and it works with Xbox One better as it's designed native. The mic is good. Seems more solid than previous editions and the joint at the bottom holding the cord (the common break point in past editions) is solid with extra rubber support. *crossing my fingers it lasts*The BAD:Calibration - by far the worst calibration experience of them all. Auto calibration was a joke, with varied results each time I tried and each of them so off it made play neigh impossible. Self calibration is a bit better but something in the averaging it does still keeps that system pretty far off, playable but makes you feel like you suck because of constant misses.THE FIX: I followed some advice online to really manually calibrate, starting at zero's 0 with the sound off. Find the hitbox and slowly adjust by 5 or 10 to get it right. Then do the same with the sound on and only move the sound adjustment - google manual calibration and watch the youtube demo from some kid.Now DRUMS - (used to be my favorite instrument) - PDP killed them. Kick-petal seems higher set and harder to press, heavy spring? NO COMPATIBILITY WITH RB3 CYMBALS. Yes that's right, you can't use your old gear; even though the RB3 Cymbals used to work on the RB4 set from MadCatz...not sure why PDP dropped the old compatibility...greed? lazy devs? not sure...I am sure their support had no sympathy and just gave me the 'to bad so sad deal with it speech'. As for hits, they aren't any quieter, and seem prone to dropping when hitting 2 notes and petal. All in all. I love it for the game. But the new hardware from PDP just isn't worth the money. Taking it all back and just going to have to purchase RB4 seperately and get the adapter to use my old hardware.
