Good sound (both for input and output,) and comfy to boot!
(~3 year update: though my first pair still works perfectly well, I purchased a second pair for travel. These are a great gaming headset option and I'd highly recommend them!) ---- First: the main complaint people have about these actually appears to be caused by the user failing to charge them. Yes, they are wired (auxiliary vs. Bluetooth) headphones, and many wired headphones don't require charging to fully work... But these have 'standard' and 'powered' modes, and the latter will drain the internal battery after a few long sessions, after which they automatically revert to the 'standard' mode. In 'standard' mode, they work perfectly fine for output, but the microphone doesn't work well; others can hardly hear you (if they can hear you at all.) In the 'powered' modes (Xbox or PS,) the output is amplified, frequency response improves dramatically, and the mic becomes super crisp. I do find the Xbox vs PS switch perplexing; both modes work (for both out- and input) with my Xbox Series X, but I actually find the PS mode provides better sound for me. There are also dials above the 'mode switch' for both the output and microphone volumes. Once dead, they don't take a terribly long time to re-charge, and I even found that if they happen to die while I'm in a party, I can simply use my extra long USB-C phone charger to plug them in and continue to use the 'powered.' So, while the need to charge them is a slight annoyance, I really like that I don't have to stay on top of it to make sure they don't die. They are very lightweight and comfortable; as someone with a smaller head, I've found many headsets will end up either gradually slipping off, or feeling so heavy that I get a headache over time. Not so with these! I can even wear thick-rimmed blue light blocking glasses without issue. The headband has supple pleather cushioning (which has stayed fully intact with no annoying flaking,) and the ear cups are cushy and lined with fine mesh. When not in use, the ear cups will fold out so as to flatten, making it easy to put them in a case if you're going somewhere. All in all, for the price I'd say these are exceptional gaming headphones. I've had both generic headsets ~$15 cheaper than these, and specialty headsets that were at least double the price... And these far outrank both. I'd absolutely recommend them, along with a 10ft USB-C cable just in case you find out mid-game that you forgot to re-charge them ;)

Love this headset, but can be a little annoying as a PC user.
I've been using this headset for six months, and I would give it a 4.5. Rounding up to 5 stars because I am fairly happy with it (comfortable to wear, 12 hour battery life, can be used while charging, and can also be used while off if you don't need the boosted audio/mic). My biggest issue with this headset comes from me being a PC user. Twice since I've had it, the mic would simply not work on my computer, despite everything working. It turns out your computer and drivers need to be completely up to date for this headset to be working fully, and at it's best. It's a fairly easy fix, but can be a bit annoying to have to check my drivers one by one to figure out what the problem is. If you're a console user, you probably wouldn't have this problem. I do love this headset, but I wish I'd known this going in. It would have saved me a lot of trial, error, and frustration. EDIT- November 7, 2024 I had this headset for 2 years. It developed a hairline fracture just below the hinge point on the left/microphone side. I bought the two year extended warranty through Asurion, and they refunded me the full amount I paid for this headset in the form of an Amazon gift card. I'm sad my Recon 200 is gone now, but I am extremely happy with my experience. I will definitely use the money to buy another one. The sound quality is fantastic, and people in game/Discord have told me that the microphone is very crisp. After two years of use, the headset showed very minimal signs of wear and tear, apart from crack of course. I will note that I am pretty gentle with my electronics. If I hadn't had the warranty, I'm sure I could have super glued the crack, and continued to use this headset for much longer. Can not recommend this enough! Great value for a very very solid headset. Turtle Beach is my new go-to!

Worth the price
I’ve been using the Turtle Beach Recon 200 Gen 2 for a couple weeks now, and I’m honestly pretty happy with it. The sound is super clear, and the bass boost gives it a nice extra punch, especially during action-heavy games. It’s also surprisingly comfortable—I wear glasses and didn’t feel any pressure even after long sessions. Mic quality is solid for party chat, though it picks up some background noise if the room isn’t quiet. Just a heads-up: you do need to charge it to get the full sound features, but it still works without power (just not as strong on the bass). For the price, it’s a great headset that does the job well. Would recommend it if you want something reliable without breaking the bank.

Hard to Clean, Good Otherwise
The sound quality is really good. I'm not a competitive gamer, so I can't review anything in that aspect, but I'm always wearing these headphones. Also, I have big ears, so the cuffs being the way they are is amazing and very rare for me. These can be on for HOURS and my ears stay comfortable. The only issue I have (which is why it's 4 stars and not 5) is that although the muffs can come off for cleaning, the rubber used to keep them on tears very easily. I managed to keep them from tearing too much and being unusable, but now I'm afraid to take them off again, because the rubber is so thin that I might break it. Also, I use these at work as a mobile detailer, and although I keep a beanie on over the headphones (which looks really silly, lol) I still get a bit of debris in these. Cleaning is not easy when getting into the nooks and crannies, but it hasn't impacted the performance of the headphones hardly at all. I did slightly damage the wire, though, by climbing around with it connected to my phone when having small pockets, which sucks, but that's on me. Sometimes it doesn't doesn't have the issue though, so I'm always lost on it. Sometimes it's an unbearable amount of cutting out in either side of the headset, most of the time it's a brief stutter that's easy to fix, and sometimes there aren't any issues at all. Great headset, though, would totally recommend, ESPECIALLY for the price

Love them
I bought this back in 2018 and absolutely loved it. However, it was getting old, and the charging plug kept falling out and would stay charged. Also, the material in the ear cushions were breaking off. Despite its age, it lasted a surprisingly long time, so I decided to purchase it again at a great price. I’m thrilled with my second purchase. The new design is fantastic, and it’s incredibly comfortable. It fits better than the older model, which is great because I’m a female who wears glasses and has a smaller head. I don’t feel any pressure on my glasses, and it fits quite well even at the smallest size. The ear cushions are better, the material won’t peel off like the old one. The durability is impressive, and the battery life is amazing. It’s definitely a good value for the money. The weight is not too heavy, which is a plus. I thoroughly enjoy using it and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a reliable and comfortable headset. I’m so glad I bought it, and I figure it will last just as long as the last one did. One thing I really appreciate about this is that I can hear my own voice while I’m talking. It’s called variable mic monitoring. It’s way better than the old one and the old one was pretty good.

Fantastic head set. Very pleased gamer.
I love these headphones. I use them for gaming with my PS5 and Xbox one. Has a switch for Ps5, pc, and xbox. You recharge them when the battery gets low. Seperate volume and mic controls. I would definitely recommend them.

great headset, so worth the money!
i’ve been buying these headsets in white at target for almost 2yrs, they’re good headsets but they rub against my frames on my glasses & it’s really annoying for me. so i figured i’d buy these black headsets & hoped they wouldn’t rub against my frames & i’m glad i did buy these, they aren’t rubbing against my frames & are a lot more comfortable than the white ones. the only downside I have with these is the sound is a bit low even when i have the volume up as high as it goes.

Microphone is trash
The sound is fine. They're comfortable enough. But I've tried on PC with discord voice chat. I tried with my phone. And I've used it with my Ps5 controller. Each time people asked me "what's wrong with your microphone?" Talking sounds horrible. I wish I would have thought to return them. I only used them off and on for a week or two and I put them back in the box. I had high hopes considering the brand but these are useless for voice chat.
