Lytool BK71 soldering stationI own 4 different soldering stations my weller 1010 is my favourite but is so expensive for diy hobbyistsAnd for hobby use this soldering station is perfect it’s compact lightweight easy to use loads of different tips are supplied with itNice clear back light displaySleep function you can set between 1 or 5 mins wakes up fast as soon as you lift up the soldering iron so it saves the iron from burning out and helps to give prolonged lifeOffset temperature options alsoThe iron is light weight and a comfortable size in your hand and the cord is soft and flexible not stiff like other irons I have so you don’t feel like your fighting with itIt heats up quickly and adjustments to the temperature are easy and straightforwardIf you like to do the odd repair or diy soldering project this is a great choice at a decent priceIf your going to be soldering 8 hours a day every day then your best off with a weller 1010Yep I have seen a few similar and can’t comment on those but I did put a lot of research in and read hundreds of different reviews before I came to this choiceI haven’t been paid or endorsed to write this review and if I am honest most of my reviews I do write on Amazon products are generally negative as I like to be honest and not let people make a bad choiceSo to sum upIdeal for making diy soldering project you see hundreds of different kinds on here on eBay AliExpress anything from clocks to Christmas trees can’t go wrong with them it’s like painting by numbers but in a electronic wayThen this is a ideal budget machine 👍

Superb for the price
This was a total surprise. Yes it's cheap for a soldering station but although made mostly of plastic it is well constructed. Clear display of temperature with a comprehensive set of features. Fast to heat up. The cable to the iron is very flexible so makes it a pleasure to use. Nice quality variety of tips included and even the very cheap solder sucker works well. Ideal for the hobbiest. Excellent value for money.

Great value soldering station
I bought this soldering station specifically to work on guitar wiring harnesses, as my previous iron just didn’t have sufficient power. This item seemed to offer all the power and flexibility I needed at a great price. Enough poke to solder large potentiometers, but controllable enough that I could reduce the heat for smaller items like oil filled capacitors etc.I haven’t been disappointed at all. I fitted one of the slightly larger tips and tinned it thoroughly before commencing work on the three wiring harnesses. I tinned all components with ease, then soldered in the switches, resistors (treble bleed), capacitors etc at 350°. For the components soldered onto the larger potentiometer casings, I upped the temperature to 400° and joints were quick and easy, without any excessive heat buildup. My old iron would have fried the pots before ever getting enough heat to make a good joint.OK, so there is a but of a compromise at this price. The stand for the iron is plastic, as is the station casing. They are still quite weighty though, and don’t move around when in use. The sponge is tucked on the inside of the stand, making it impractical to use. There is no auto shut off feature if the iron isn’t used for a while either. In my view though, these are very minor issues and this is terrific value for money - so good in fact, that I bought one for my dad too.I hope you find my review helpful.

Great soldering station but no sleep mode.
This is a great product for the price. The display is very big and clear with the temperature clearly displayed and a indicator bar to show rising and falling temperature. The tip heats up quickly and stays stable. The tip is the standard size 938 that can easily be replaced. Only thing that could be improved is the addition of a sleep mode. But if you are not likely to leave it on unused for long periods that's fine. It's a very attractive station and a welcome addition to any workshop.

Great product.
I have owned a couple of cheap soldering irons prior to this. One being a Ferrex I got from Aldi. I have had the worst experiences with them and was convinced soldering was the hardest thing in the universe to do.After a bit of reading online I decided to purchase a decent iron with a temperature display to make sure I was at 350, which seems the most ensuring temperature to melt your run-of-the-mill solder.Without wanting to invest £100+ in a Weller (as I will mainly just be using for amateur use (audio cables mainly), I purchased this and immediately upon arrival I got it working and it just worked with total ease! It, combined with some handy grabber claws to hold wires, the job was near enough effortless.Highly recommended if you don’t want soldering to bring you ten rungs up your anger ladder.

Really good value soldering station
Arrived on time.Everything as described and the instructions are good. The kettle type power plug is a tight fit and needs a very good push to seat it into the control unit. I find that a bit strange but it works. The soldering iron is easy to use. Heat setting is straight forward and intuitive in some respects. There are five bits/tips to choose from included in the package to fit the soldering iron hand piece. They are easy to change whilst obviously cold!In use it is very good, making use of the temperature adjustment to allow for heavier work pieces than I would normally do, soldering up joints of a HO gauge train track. Solder flows easy and the hand piece stand supplied is good for cleaning the tip using either the supplied foil or sponge, nice!!The hand piece will go into standby mode after a user configuration time when placed into the stand and quickly reheats when simply removed from the stand.Temperature setting and actual probe temperature are displayed, nice!!I’m very happy with this unit, it’s made for a great Father’s Day gift and will see a lot of service.I can recommend it at this time.Update in a few months.
