Repels water and absorbs diesel
Very impressed at how the pads repel water and absorb the spilt diesel floating on top.Diesel leaked from a car on the road and then appeared in my basement - filling a sump I'd made to collect the water that comes in when it rains. Used the pads to soak up the diesel. The diesel is still coming through the porous rock - bit by bit over a month later. I now use the pads to mop it up.

Easily stored and effective
Review of 10L Oil and Fuel Spill Kit,This 10 litre kit containing one small absorbent roll for attempted containment of a spillage and 12 absorbent pads for absorbing fluid spilt, one plastic bag for disposal and a pair of latex gloves, the pads are very absorbent as is the roll, they do contain and recover oil or fuel spills very well, however they are not very cost effective. All Items such as these Oil spill kits of great value to the environment yet all seemingly expensive for the amount of contents you receive, this especially poignant when one considers it cost more to recover 10 litres of spilt diesel fuel with this kit than to actually purchase 10 litres of UK diesel fuel.Having used a similar product before for an oil spill I know they work, hence this a replacement, the value of kits such as these is they can be held in waiting as storage space is minimal, they are quick, easy to use and effective, however there disposal should be made with care due to the possible volatility of the product absorbed. This spill kit is effective, easy to use and store but not so cost efficient as some other methods.

A First Aid Kit for the Environment
The plastic storage bag this come in neatly stores the various items which make up the "BearTOOLS Oil Only Spill Kit". This, we learn from the instruction sheet, is suitable for, "Oils, Fuels, Petroleum, and Petrol Based Solvents." It does not handle other noxious liquids. This is an excellent 'starter' kit for dealing with small oil or fuel spills. It contains absorbent material to soak up the offending liquid, a pair of gloves to save your hands, and a plastic bag for disposing of the absorbent material once used and thus contaminated. To do the actual absorption there is a nearly four foot long tube about 3 inches in diameter. This is flexible and can be progressively bent into a "horse shoe" shaped collar as required. Then there are a further twelve thin pads. Each is 15" x 10".The instruction sheet provides only brief details of what to do if you have a spill, and spends nearly as much time describing other products BearTOOLS supply......in other kits. This should be regarded as a First Aid Kit for the environment. You hope you will never need it, but if you do there really is no substitute for oil absorbency. For me, minus the one sheet I used to mop up a test spill of diesel, this will be on my boat. And yes, it was very absorbent.

Good to keep for emergencies... and invaluable at that time.
This is a very handy kit to have around if, like me, you spend a lot of time working on cars! For example. The kit contains 12 absorbent pads (each measuring 24.5cm x 38.5cm) in addition to the absorbent sausage roll and the disposable gloves are adequate, if not particularly high quality... and the blue disposal bag comes equipped with a cable tie.Overall, I would say this is better than I expected. I tipped some oil on one pad and it soaked it up very well... a diesel soak test was equally successful... the key thing being it was readily absorbent! And it looks to me that the pads are made of the same material as the absorbent sausage roll. And that's good enough for me to keep it now, for that unfortunate right moment to deploy it!The quality is pretty good for what it's designed to do... and the manufacturers have put it up for review so they too must have reasonable confidence in it too... that's important to bear in mind! So, all that's left is the price! £17.50. Right now, that might seem a bit steep to some. Most of us!But, when you're in need of something to mop up a 10 litre oil, or diesel spill (or any other petrol based solvent) this will seem money well spent.5* Recommended.

Great, British made oil spill kit
This pack contains pretty much everything you need to contain and clean up spills of all oil based fluids. There are 12 absorbent pads, an absorbent sausage (probably called something else) to contain the spill area, a bag for disposal of soiled items as well as gloves and a tie for the bag.The packaging on this kit itself states that it will absorb 10 litres of liquid and the pads and sausage are a good size, pretty thick and seem to be of good quality. The gloves are ok quality and the disposal bag is sufficient for it's purpose.Upon using this kit, the pads and sausage were very absorbent and did a great job of soaking up the oil quickly and easily. The kit is very convenient and easy to access with the outer bag having a click close fastening. It is very slimline so is perfect for storing in any small spaces, whether that is in a cupboard or in a vehicle.I would recommend this kit because I think it is good value for money (currently £17.50) and does a decent job of containing and cleaning up oil based spills, as well as it being made in Britain.
