Excellent bit of kit
Initially seems a bit complicated, the included instructions leave a little to be desired - but check out the YouTube videos, there are some very helpful people out there and the 'complication' soon goes away. Bought due to desire not to disturb others in the household without the need of wires to the practice amp. and headphones, etc. Makes an electric guitar as mobile as an accoustic, no longer tethered to the 'brick'. Works a treat, very versatile, lots of options and great practice aid. It also appears to be very well made, far better than the 'usual' chinese offerings. Really worthwhile purchase, should have done it sooner.

Sounds just like a really amp
I originally saw a fender version of this which was about £100 or so and was impressed. I wasn't really expecting too much from this as it was under £30. Then I thoughc maybe you're just paying for the name of the fender one. Anyway, this little amount is amazing! You just plug in to your guitar, plug in your headphones and away you go. Honestly, the sounds that this thing produces is amazing. There are 10 preset amp which are great, but each one can be adjusted to your tastes. The things you can change are amp, gain, tone, mods, time, reverb, volume, FB, mix, and impulse response. It is plastic but seems reasonably strong and it's so small you can carry it anywhere. My main motivation to buy it was I didn't want to disturb the neighbours and I didn't want to mess about getting out a full sized amp. It's great to just plug in and practice away. I also run it through my audio interface into my laptop for use in a DAW. I love it.

Nice little amp - works especially well with electric guitars.
I bought this for my ukulele - I was looking for some way of plugging into my amp without upsetting all the guitar settings. After about 30 minutes of messing around I found some excellent setups which gave me that sort of sound I was looking for. The only drawback is that the loudest volume setting is not fantasically loud, so still have to alter that on the amp, but thats ok. I did some experimenting on my other guitars. Electric guitars work well, and the range of sound options is very good. Steel string acoustic responds to some setups, but you lose the nature of the acoustic guitar when the gain is turned up. I had a similar response from the uke, so I guess it is piezo pickups that don't get processed as well as the magnetic pickups. And I gave up on my nylon string acoustic - I guess the microphone pickups were just not a suitable source for this device. It's easy to program directly on the device. And there is a pretty good program to setup on the PC. The PC program uses numbers for selection, so you have to remember which number corresponds to a particular choice - it would have been so much easier just to have the effects/amps etc. named. It didn't quite make the 5* because of the lack of volume and the slightly awkward PC program. Overall, this is a really neat device and great value for money. I'm impressed.

Versatile but with limitations.
Firstly, what I like is; Next day shipping, pulled the trigger n ordered one, arrived the next morning before 7am, which is a plus. Bluetooth connectivity, it's great being able to pair a device with the unit and play allong to YouTube, spotify etc, real good feature which means you can rock out or follow allong with an instructional video or backing track, ace for learning. Rechargeable. This is a great feature, countless times I've had to search for batteries and cables with my vox unplug, this is usb c (like all my other devices) so always have a lead to charge it even when I'm away. Recording feature, not tried it but I like the idea, maybe getting an idea into your head, you can plug it into the jack of your phone (im still 10 versions back on samsung so I still have a headphone socket). The ability to load your own speaker IR's giving flexability in sound, again yet to do this. 10 presets, you can save upto 10 presets to your liking, there is a nice clean sound from the factory, glassy clean, bit of chorus and reverb (think message in a bottle tone) Now onto what I don't like and may cause me to send the unit back. The distortion sounds are awful, I've got something that's just useable, this may change when loading my own IRs, but its deffo a bing negative. Volume control, on my Vox amplug, you can turn your guitar down and it cleans up, like a tube amp, this however doesnt. 10 is face melting lead sound, 8 you can barely hear it, anything lower than 5 is off, which is annoying. Menus, granted putting all this into a small box is going to have a compromise. Some of the menus need you to hold 2 buttons, whilst its plugged into the guitar is so annoying as you need 2 hands. Finally the tuner, just dont bother, it will pick up the high e and b strings reliably across a variation of guitars, but the rest are sketchy at best. I'm really on the fence with this, it packs loads of features and is really convenient, and things that are convenient will make you use them more, thus more playing and getting better.... if you can look past some of the crappy sounds and unrealistic feel, but saying that I spent a good few hours rocking allong to some of my fav songs.

Fun and Useful
I've just started making electric ukuleles (as a hobby). This little gizmo, plugged into the jack on the uke, with a USB 3 connection to my PC, headphones, DAW etc is astonishing! Playing a ukulele with massive distortion and reverb is quite a thing. I haven't tried different cabinet settings yet. As an older person who wishes that they had been taught music and how to play an instrument at an earlier age, I'm having a lot of fun with this. It has loads of built in, I don't know the lingo - soundscapes? From sounding like early Beatles to Jimi Hendrix, it can do clean to seriously distorted. All sound parameters are adjustable. Knowing no better, I just tweak it here and there. I haven't got to grips with what it can or can't do yet, but if you want to play like ACDC or The Monkees, I believe this little unit will do a good job of it.
