Well worth the few extra bucks you pay - high quality and great looking
I've had my share of timers over the years and never bought any that were very expensive and nice to look at. But this one is stainless steel with those large colorful buttons (I got the plum color) and with the strong magnet I can slap it on my refrigerator which is black stainless steel, where it's handy and actually a nice decoration for the fridge door. Simple and easy to use with large bright numbers you could read across a room. And the beeper is loud but not obnoxious and can be easily heard from my kitchen to upstairs office. Setting the desired time is easy and quick and the device is silent when you are setting the time which I like - I hated the beeping sounds in previous models every time I was setting it up. It also has an auto shutoff after 5 min of non-use. I prefer both the auto and a manual shutoff, but I quickly got used to not having the manual shutoff. This timer looks and feels so durable I think I'll have it a long, long time.

Nice Quality Loud Alarm
I’m very pleased with this kitchen timer. Nice Quality. It has a strong magnet to hang on stove, fridge or anything metal plus the option that it has a pull out stand to set it on the counter. Very easy to set the amount of time and to clear it. Nice large numbers that can be read from a distance. Automatic turn off so battery won’t wear down and most important the ringing alarm is loud & has a long continuous ring. I’ve bought a few kitchen timers recently this one outshines the rest. Very happy with purchase and highly recommend.

Great little timer!!
Five stars! It is very well-made and the design is attracrive. The little "kickstand" in the back is easy to pull down and is stable. There is also a built -in magnet on the back if one might want to attach it some time to a metal surface (like a file cabinet, maybe?) instead of just having it stand on a counter or table. The buttons are easty to use and the alarm sound is just right - not too loud and jarring but loud enough to hear from an adjacent room. I actually always use mine just to time my PT/OT exercises so I just keep it in front of me on the table. Yesterday I actually took it to me PT/OT yesterday just to let them see what good quality it was because the little plastic Walmartish ones they use there are def inferior to this one even though they do get the job done. Was a bit pricy at about $17.00 but I think it will last a long iome (probably longer than I will - lol!) Highly recommended!

Great, until it stops working - but they'll replace it!
This timer was great when I first bought it 5 months ago. - I like that the min/sec buttons don't beep when you press them -It would be nice if the start/stop button DID beep so you could be sure you started it (of if it's in your pocket you'd know if you accidentally stopped it, and since the buttons stick out it is very easy to do that). - Recently it has been stopping on its own, when sitting on the counter with nobody around it. - Either that, or when the time is up it doesn't beep at all (or gives one tiny, quiet beep). So basically it lasted 5 months and now I need to buy a new (obviously different) timer, waste of money. ---------------------------------------------- Update - Their customer service is excellent, they sent me a replacement timer and it's working much better than the 1st one.

Nicely Designed, Functional Kitchen Timer.
I purchased this after being disappointed with the durability and inaccuracy of the mechanical kitchen timers. I currently use it for timing the brewing of tea, as I often get distracted and let it brew longer than I intended. This design is sleek, elegant, and easy to use. My stainless steel refrigerator doors are not magnetic, but fortunately the side of the refrigerator protrudes from the enclosure by 3 inches, just enough for this 2 1/2 inch wide kitchen timer. I snug the vertical edge up against the frame of the enclosure to keep it from rotating on pressing the buttons; although the magnet is strong enough for the timer not to move up or down, due to textured surface of the side of the refrigerator with slick paint, it may allow more movement than a flat, more maté finish would. The alarm is loud enough to hear in the same room, but I find if it's in the kitchen and I go into another room, maybe 20 feet away from the kitchen entrance, it it is hard to hear over ambient noises such as air-conditioning or fans, let alone, I imagine, if one were watching television. So I may keep it in it's place on the refrigerator and set the time there, but I will probably take it with me when using it if I leave the kitchen.* I have noticed with some battery devices of this type with electronic beeps, alarm clocks and such, that the volume of the beep can vary from one unit to the next of the same device. I wonder if that's the case here. I haven't used the stand much yet, but it seems to work well. * Although the magnet protrudes from the back of the case about a millimeter, allowing a small air space between the alarm speaker near the top of the back side, above the magnet, and the surface to which it attaches, it still seems to muffle the beep somewhat (although it doesn't seem to be much louder if the stand is used). I have found an idiosyncratic solution that may only work in certain circumstances, but by turning the timer sideways so the top portion with the speaker extends past the side of the refrigerator where the door hinge is and lies over the space between the side and the door where the rubber seal is, the resonant space effectively doubles the volume of the beep, so I can now hear it in the other room. If that area of your refrigerator isn't assessable, on designs with two front doors it has been found that placing the speaker area over the gap between the two front doors, if they are magnetic, also increases the sound volume, perhaps depending on the design of the refrigerator. When using the stand, I have found placing the timer up against a wall, or the side of a square cookie or sugar jar, for example, also increases the volume, but not as much as the refrigerator gap. Update:I have periodically tried to find things that will help amplify the beep, and I just discovered that If you put the timer in the inverted rounded cover of the case which Clinique soap bars come in, with the top of the timer inside, the cover will rock on its side so the timer is basically horizontal and this roughly doubles the volume of the beep, similar to the method of using the gap between the side of the refrigerator and the door.

Very nice timer
This timer has a great large screen and display. The alarm is loud enough you can hear it across the room. It’s also very easy to use. For the money it’s a great buy.

Worth the price!
We use this digital timer while cooking. It's worked out great due to how straightforward it is to set the timer, turn off and on while cooking and the sound level can be easily heard. No disappointment with this purchase.

This digital timer is large, with intuitive design that makes it very easy to use. The display is also easy to read, and the alarm fairly loud, sufficient for a senior with moderate hearing loss to hear. I got this for my elderly mom for use to time her exercises. She has arthritis of the hand that make it difficult to use her fingers effectively, but it was very easy for her to use this timer and its buttons.
