I keep buying them
I've gotten this brand before, found a cheaper one, came back to this. I get groups of ten and have them all over the place and in numerous coats and work as well. Their lifespan is good and they've survived drops nicely.I recommend.

Not quite perfect, overall good value
Just received these and all worked out of the box with alkaline batteries. They came individually boxed and in a bubble wrap sleeve. Brightness is as expected at this price point for a single cell AA mini flashlight. Don't have a means to measure but would guess it's not quite 300 lumens on high but more than adequate for general use around the house, walking, camping, and light hiking. There is an o-ring on the tailcap and an o-ring by the front diffuser so these should work in the rain as long as you don't drop it in a puddle.Overall build quality was good on 4 out of 5 in the pack I received. The focusing ring was noticeably looser on one of the flashlights received and it happened to be this same one that also had a machining error where the hole was drilled too close to the edge and cracked the material. The crack doesn't affect the function of the flashlight in any way, though the loose focusing ring is a minor annoyance. For the price paid I'm satisfied with my purchase and will keep these around for camping, emergency use, etc.

Good value for the money
I purchased the Atak 80 Lumen LED Tactical Multi-Function Flashlight about a year ago and like it so much I wanted to get a few more. I found these Mini Cree LED flashlights and thought they looked about the same for significantly less money so I figured I'd take a chance and see how they are. Bottom line, good value for the money but not quite the quality of the Atak.Compared to the Atak, they are almost identical in size, the biggest difference is that the Atak has a more aggressive scallop on the bezel. The lens is also slightly different and smaller on this light. All other grooves are very similar with slight differences in size. Also, the light color is somewhat blue where the other LED lights shown in the attached photos are more white. The first photo shows a light beam that's a square grid. This is the tightest the beam can get and appears to be the exact shape of the LED.The next photo is the widest flood beam the light adjusts to -- not bad.The third photo shows three beams on the wall. Those beams are, from left to right, Surefire 6P Original Single Output Incandenscent non LED light, Mini MagLite LED and then this CREE LED light. The SureFire 6P isn't a fair comparison here as it is a traditional bulb but it had always been my main go-to light over the past 20 years and I know it's ~60 lumens with a good light pattern. Both the Mini MagLite and the CREE LED outshine it by A LOT.The fourth photo (light beams pointing left) shows, from top to bottom, the CREE LED light, Mini MagLite LED and SureFire 6P. You can see the relative brightness. The fifth photo is the same as the fourth but you can see the flashlight bodies a little better. In the sixth photo (light beams pointing down), I also included the Mini MagLite Solitaire in LED. It's the one all the way on the left. All the lights I photographed here outshine it but it's very close in brightness and light shape to the SureFire 6P.The seventh photo is the same as the sixth but you can see the flashlight bodies a little better.I also want to note that I used a single AA battery in the CREE LED light for testing, not the optional 3 point something voltage battery that is available. I assume that if you use a battery that is over double the voltage of a standard AA that you will get significantly brighter light output. As mentioned, I think this is a good light for the money and I will be placing several of them around my house so there will always be one close by should the need present itself. Nice, small flashlights
ALMOST perfect.... Four of the 5 lights are fine - well made, bright, small but not too small. The zoom head slides freely with no sloppiness or gritty feel. The body is nicely machined aluminum, for the most part, well finished, with a solid heft, but not too heavy. The switch cap threads (o-ring sealed) are just rough enough that care must be taken so as not to cross-thread the cap, especially while compressing the battery spring. This is to be expected on a light at this price point, a minor annoyance. The only real issue is that one of the flashlights had a faulty switch & would not turn off. I fiddled with it for a bit trying to sort out the problem, but no luck. I was afraid I would have to return the lot to get a replacement or refund, but when I opened a chat with Amazon, they offered me a credit for the one faulty light. Easy-peasey.We'll see how these flashlights work long term, & if there are issues I will amend my review, but for now, we'll just use our little lights & be happy....

Convenient, Cheap(er), Decent, now on Prime
Cheap light with lots of bang for the buck. This is an Ultrafire factory item. These lights have been out for years, and started at $5 each for the 3-way switch version in a black housing, which these are. First company to make them was not Ultrafire, but the Chinese don't respect anyone's version of a patent, so shortly after these came to market from a Hong Kong factory, mainland China got into the business of copying them. I must have at least 3 variations on the body style from the different factories over the years (different lengths in the grip end of the barrel, or the tail cap depth, the rubber switch button diameter, drilled v non-drilled tail ring, and so on. The quality dropped a tad when they moved production from HK to mainland Shanghai, such that about 1:10 were poorly finished, with loose bezels, or some other problem. The Ultrafire is no worse nor any better than any others. I find the little sticker near the lens annoying, and a waste of money and time, but for whatever reason, they use them, you can tear them off quickly. All manufacturers of this design use the same second-run Cree Q5 led bulbs. That means that while a first-run Cree Q5 will definitely get you 340 lumens, these will probably produce somewhere closer to 275 or 300, or might waiver a bit more in color or longevity. All told, for the price, these are fine. What sets this apart is the fact that you can now get this light for under $3 each, and now via Prime. For that, I give it 5 stars, because these are great little lights to keep everywhere from home to car to office, to backpacks, to med kits, to go bags, etc, etc. they make great gift add-ons, and no dog walker or college student should be without a set of these.
